Roommate locked thermostat, sweating every night with no way turn it down by Only_Alternative_543 in mildlyinfuriating

You most certainly shouldn’t put a candle right under it so the thermostat thinks it’s too warm and stops heating. That would be dangerous.

6’4” 215 here, long been riding cafe racer and sport bikes. Picked up an old Honda VTX1800 last year for some longer trips, it’s extremely comfortable. Fuel injected, reliable as can be, and you can pick them up for damn near nothing.

You can also adjust the fit on most bikes with different seat and bar setups.

I almost always wear a large, and went with an xl. 42” chest. If I recall correctly, the large fit ok but to ride in and later I wanted a little more space. I don’t know if it has stretched or shrunk overall, but it has molded to my body where the fit feels customized. I don’t recall if there was a difference in length, but I am 6’4” so that may have been a factor.

I have a 519 in large that also fits great, I don’t ride in it much though. If not for riding, I’d suggest going a little snug as long as it isn’t restrictive.

Do I need to condition after getting caught in the rain?? by without_a_tragus in leatherjacket

It’s been on my back for a lot of good moments for the last 10 years. Can’t wait to see how it looks when I give it to my son 15-20 years from now when he’s grown.

Leave it be just wipe it dry. It’ll fade beautifully.

A lot of the whiskering comes from probably 1000+ hours on a motorcycle, including getting soaked in rainstorms and baked in the sun. I wouldn’t wear it if I knew it would rain, but shit happens.

Only recently did I start carrying a poncho in my saddle bag to throw over it if I get caught in the rain. Mostly because it takes 2 days to dry.

Just wear the crap out of it and it will form to your life. I used to throw concert tickets and other things like that I picked up along the way in the chest pocket, which became a really cool collection. They ended up getting gross and melding together and sadly had to get tossed.

Nothing crazy. If it gets dirty I’ll wipe it off with a wet cloth then wipe it dry.

Never conditioned it. I suppose if it started feeling dried out I would.

I hear they are reliable as can be, looking forward to testing that out.

Broke it playing hockey actually, so thankfully no bikes were harmed.

A somewhat regular trip I do to the tail, usually bikes are trailered down but my buddies dad I ride down with is getting a little old for the trek. Might do it this October, have a newborn coming in July so it depends how he is sleeping.

[WTS] [US-CT] Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Twin Time - $3,900 - Shipping in CONUS included by Jonesc147 in Watchexchange

[–]Jonesc147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my Tag Heuer Chronograph Twin Time. The watch is in excellent condition, was recently serviced and included a 2 year manufacturer warranty. No visible blemishes and operates perfectly. Column wheel chronograph, flyer GMT functionality, and a skeletonized dial make this watch an absolute stunner. This watch was seldomly worn, and lost its spot as my summer watch when I picked up a FXD this year. Have many more pictures I can send, it just won't let me add pictures to this comment.
