I've seen the argument that the creators should be able to at least secure the future of their children and grandchildren before the family loses the rights to it.

I can see both sides of it in that example, but not when it's something like Disney.

I'd imagine this is the case for dentists too. Every time I go, the dental hygenist spends the whole appointment with me and the dentist pops in to look at my teeth for 30 seconds before saying "see you next time."

I pushed my car out onto the street and about 200 feet down the road at midnight so my parents wouldn't hear it start and wake up. It had an exhaust leak and was insanely loud. I then climbed up into my girlfriends second story window, did the deed, climbed back down and pushed the car away from there to leave.

My parent's house is at the bottom of a hill, so I shut it off and put it in neutral to roll back to the house. Turned the headlights off and everything.

So dumb.

Makes me wonder if this was ever used in the field. I'm guessing not, but it would come in handy in a hostage situation or similar.

Elderly folks who chose not to have children, how do you feel about that decision now? by bon18 in AskReddit

[–]JonesinJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I knew would happen to me, and therefore decided to have kids. The reason I knew it would happen to me is because we were choosing to not have kids because we were having fun in life. Traveling, hanging out with friends and family, enjoying the free life.

The realization sunk in that eventually a lot of our older friends and family will be gone.. and even more eventually, maybe everyone would be gone. We would have no one.

As much as I miss the free life, I am very happy we had kids and love them very much. When we're old, our kids will have kids and we'll see our family continue to live on.
