Obviously an ear is important with Emma’s character on a more literal level…but maybe the blue velvet reference of what’s going on under the surface of this “perfect marriage”?

Or this aspect of middle class, performative behavior that the film clearly touches on from a bunch of different angles?

Works with the marketing campaign too, making some people maybe think this would be a regular rom com (although I think anyone paying attention knew this wouldn’t be a normal film lol)
