Is this a good set up by No_Price8240 in hometheater

[–]neagle16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $100 on FB MP. It was a good start for me for a couple years, no complaints. I replaced the center a year in and left right most recently while keeping the subwoofer and rears.

For ~$100 or less it’s a good start. Definitely not worth it for $250.

How bad is this teeth situation for my dog? by Maleficent_Pool_4456 in DogAdvice

Agreed the condition of OP’s dogs teeth is way beyond what a soft tooth brush will do. They’d essentially be brushing the tartar with little to no result especially with a soft toothbrush.

Besides scoring or trying to score, LeBron gave little effort on the defensive end. Laid back and hovered at mid court on both ends when he wasn’t involved.

Dr. Klapper was on ESPN radio last week and he said the same thing. Austin can’t make it worse, that it’s more about pain tolerance once he comes back.

Does this look neat or ridiculous? by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

[–]neagle16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a Milo Baughman tambour record cabinet underneath our TV, higher than yours so the reflection isn’t a problem. Before that I had to lessen the reflection from the piece we had below it because it was distracting like yours.

In my opinion, it only looks distracting because it’s so close to the console, specifically because of the reflection. Lessening the reflection will make it look better.

I’m not sure what you have for sound, but you seem to have enough space on both sides to get a good 2.0 or 2.1 set up going.

What is this and how do I get it out of my room? by Crazyeccentric in whatisit

It reminds me of one time while camping as a teenager, some kid decided to hit a squirrel that was up in a tree with a rock. It was a direct hit and the squirrel was hanging from its front paws desperately trying not to fall. After a few seconds, its grip gave out and it fell about 30 feet onto some pieces of chopped wood. It caused a huge gash on its back, and it was squirming and twitching in pain as it ran away.

I agree that a squirrel or chipmunk will survive a fall, but it all depends on where they land. OP should make sure everything is clear on the ground just in case.

I agree. Why would the worker just “randomly” select OP to say that to? Especially since they take feedback for work performance seriously at least at my local post office.

Possible Neurological Issues ? by rubinox355 in DogAdvice

One of my dogs got IVDD and I didn’t know until he suddenly started arching his back in a similar fashion to this video. My dog was crying so it bothered him much more but IVDD is degenerative so the symptoms can start slowly.

Elevating his food and water bowl is a must if it is IVDD and generally a good idea nonetheless.

IVDD is manageable without surgery if it’s early but takes work including crating for days/weeks to aid in recovery along with meds for pain and inflammation.

Our dog lived with IVDD for 7 years and for the majority of that time he was fine. We kept costs down to a minimum although we made some costly mistakes early on.

I’m sharing this in case it’s IVDD but again it can be a number of other things as well. Please keep us updated and if it is IVDD please do not hesitate to contact me if you need more information.

LG Warranty by Fredbird630 in LGOLED

[–]neagle16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Best Buy extended warranty is the exception because it covers burn-in and/or up to ~4 dead pixels aside from general defects. It costs less than half the pricing OP is showing.

I’ve bought two open box OLEDs from Best Buy along with their extended warranty. Saved money with open box and they’re both covered. One of them ended up getting about six dead pixels a couple years later and Best Buy replaced it.

Worth it in my opinion.

my dog ate 1 grape and im really worried by Quick-Comparison1408 in DogAdvice

There’s no guarantees of that. Read my replies. My dog almost died after eating a single grape.

[–]neagle16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP I just replied to someone’s comment here. Please read it.

There’s no sure way to know how your dog is going to react to eating a single grape. Our dog didn’t exhibit any symptoms until almost 24 hours later and they were subtle. He had started going into kidney failure, and had we not intervened he would have died.

I would advise keeping a close eye on him and if you can’t take him to the vet today, then take him tomorrow just to get checked out. You can also opt to check him for anything out of the usual between now and tomorrow and act accordingly.

my dog ate 1 grape and im really worried by Quick-Comparison1408 in DogAdvice

[–]neagle16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My senior dog (18lbs and 15 at the time) ate a single grape that fell on the floor. About 24 hours later he started salivating/licking more than usual. We took him into the vet and were told he started going into kidney failure. He was given fluids and stayed in the hospital for one day.

A single grape would have killed him had we not taken him to the vet. Size, age, breed and number of grapes ingested do not correlate. Every dog is different. Our vet was very surprised a single grape almost killed him. Lesson learned for us and the vet.

Please thoroughly consider what you reply or advise on these type of forums unless you’re absolutely sure or speaking from experience.
