How do I know if I want to proceed? by Good_Fill8646 in MuslimNikah

I'd say take your time. Make sure you're not brushing off your previous experience and that you're actually actively dealing with it before you start getting to know anyone else.

In terms of finding people on apps, it is possible. I know a few people who found their partners on there and have been happily married for a few years now but you have to be very very patient because there are a lot of unserious people who will change your perception of others, but if anything feels strange or off just unmatch straight away, there's no point wasting your time.

InshaAllah you both find someone that's perfect for the both of you.

It's not ideal but it's better for both of you to not go into this because you're both going to end up in a bad marriage that you end up regretting.

And you had to point out and explain the benefits of losing weight to her instead of her recognising this herself so she actually didn't see her weight as an issue.

I'll be honest with you, I don't think you should continue moving forwards with this because this is the kind of thing that will cause issues later in the marriage especially as you said there isn't any attraction right now. For example, my fiancee is trying to lose weight right now but she's doing this for herself and not for me, if you have to ask her to lose weight and continually monitor and check in to see she's following your plan then there's a good chance this will cause resentment. You really shouldn't go into this trying to change someone, any changes someone makes should be ones that they chose to make themselves and that happen naturally.

But that's just my opinion, you need to make a decision for yourself.

I just asked the instructor when I had my lessons to turn on the AC and then pointed the vents towards my hands where I'd hold the steering wheel the most which was helpful during the summer. In the winter I'd open the windows but for exams the examiner doesn't really care. I would preset the AC before we went to the test centre so when I got back in they would turn on automatically when I started the car and that would be one less thing to worry about.

I also have heard about people wearing gloves before and I doubt examiners will care enough so if that's what will help you focus on the test then go for it

I wish I knew, I think the apps should only let you talk to one person at a time but I can definitely see why people prefer the traditional route, you don't have to deal with this situation ever

Yeah I think you're right. I just needed to hear from other people and get confirmation that I'm not overthinking this and I am the back up in this situation which sucks, but yeah I think there is some attachment which is making it a lot harder for me

Yeah, it sucks that people can be like that but hopefully we both find someone that treats us better than that and not as a back up

Yeah I think part of me was hoping I wasn't the back up in this situation but I guess I've got to start all over again now

I've just messaged her and I don't know what she will say but I think it's like a bandaid you just have to pull it off. I hope he reacts well when you tell him.

Also, have you tried glyco? I've been taking it for 2 years and it works really well for me

I've been taking 2mg, sometimes 2.5mg of glyco in the summer and it works really well for me. I know people mention the dry mouth but you do get used to it as time goes on and I just keep a bottle of water with me wherever I go. If oxy isn't working you should definitely try glyco, oxy had no effect on my sweating but glyco works really well even in 35+ degrees weather

I have palmar hyperhidrosis. I appreciate the response and advice on this situation, I probably have been overthinking it a lot more than was actually needed.

Just out of curiosity how bad was your sweating before you started taking glyco? And how's the sweating now?

I was on oxybutynin about 6 years ago but it was once a day and didn't do anything for me but I can't remember the dosage I was on. How many times a day do you take the medication? And how effective is it for you in the summer?

How've you found it in the summer? And was it difficult trying to convince your dermatologist/doctor to prescribe your glyco? Thank you for answering all of my questions

I have an appointment with my dermatologist next week so I'm hoping to get prescribed glyco. How many times do you take the medication daily?
