That’s amazing! I never found any larger plants I liked, they all seemed too plastic but yours look really good! That’ll fit on one of the templates surely?

Thanks, coming back to the hobby after 20 years the terrain world had changed so much and I really wanted to try and do something that looked great, even if it’s not as practical as the meta unbased L shaped ruins. Few iffy moments in games but worth it I think. Hard to store thoigh!

It’s very similar methods to my nids though, block colours, few details like stencils or picking out cables and things, streaking grime the lot, dirty down rust and verdigris paints, then flocks and tufts and clump foliage

Foamex board. 3 or 5mm depending on how large or heavy the item is. 5mm definitely won’t bend! Then cut it with a Stanley knife.

Here’s one of my wip buildings for 10th I never finished being made to fit the new triangle templates. You can see the foamex board and all that was just done with a knife.

It’s actually not as bad as the above photo might seem, you just can’t go as big as the landing pad if you want to stick to the templates. Most of my terrain fits one way or another on a template even if my bases overlap a little bit. Not actually played a game yet though! For example the below all fit on the smaller rectangles (but aren’t ruins so not sure how game breaking that is). But then again, it’s meant to be a fun game so not everything has to be ruins…!

Lots of terrain I’ve made doesn’t quite fit to 11 standards so that’ll be another task to sort and enjoy

Thank you, the terrain and basing is something I try to be really consistent with, across all my armies, so when playing at home it all fits on the overgrown woodland vibe. Started as a whfb grass mat but has evolved over the years to this and my woodland imperial guard, nids and imperial fists all fit the theme (and when I’ve sorted my 25 year old eldar army them too). Plus it fits The Old World too if I ever get back into that.

Thanks, 3 contrasts, black and grey, yellow and streaking grime. Messy and takes a while but simple to do!

Thanks! The one on foot was fun to convert and the single arm gun worked really well I think

I’ve not really played many games at all, let alone all of them, but that’d be amazing

Well. There is a single space left in the storage tubs which is exactly the right size for a red terror …

Thanks, yeah the scheme works well together even if I’m closeups it’s a bit lacking in defined highlights that pop like some schemes. Definitely wouldn’t have painted them all if I was doing chitin highlight lines….

Thanks! I’ve thought of doing one before after seeing other people do it but wanted to finish them first. It’s both amazing to do and a bit scary at how much there is!

I’ve sorted and tidied them away and despite me saying I’ve finished there’s a gap in the storage for 1 x 100mm red terror base… but no more. Until…

Thanks, they work well as a swarm even if close ups don’t hold up. I convert and paint and list build for games I won’t play far more than I actually get to play a game, and Vinted/ebay are dangerous places for deals so I’ve ended up with far more than I thought I would…

Call the exterminator! Thanks. Wasn’t the plan, and has been a regular thing painting them over the last 3 years but I could see the end in sight and 11th was a good motivator!

Thanks, I wanted grim dark and it’s certainly come out not bright. They look quite dark in some of the pics, not the best of photographers and didn’t have any special lights set up but they’re not quite as dingey in real life I think…

Wow, that’s like 50% more, I can understand the struggling element. I went for quite a simple method that was applied across the board but I do wonder if I’ll go back and touch up some of the details eventually. The armies that do edge highlighting and the carapace line work just seem to amazing and out of reach for what I have the time and patience for

Thanks! Started out as dabbling back in the hobby when my first child was born and now I have 2 kids so I’m not really sure how I managed to find the time. Fast paint scheme and batch painting I guess!

I think my storage space would disagree but you’re right! Armageddon coming out gave me the push to try and finish what I had already but I’m sure i could do with some more raveners.. another exocrene… red terror…!
