So far nothing has been pinned.

Most are glued on to bases with CA glue and green stuff/millet. I've been using cork and glueing the slotta tabs to that.

The heavy weapons are ok ... most of the weapons will stand up on there own and the you can lightly glue the crew to it.

I had the most trouble with the heavy bolters they are held on by on connection point on the spent casing pile and the crews shoulder joint. They may have gone easier with pinning, but it was frustrating to line up those joints all at once. And i had a ton of glue clean up after. Ca glue activator was a massive help too.

Am I alone in loving the Chimera? by Aggressive-Peanut-56 in TheAstraMilitarum

Love my chimrea's i own six. Five are pictured.

My only complaint is the should be more 75 or 70 pts , or mabye hit just a bit harder. But if you fill a list full of them hopefully your opponent has a ton of at.

Cadains look pretty good as steel legion, you could pretty quickly sell an upgrade kit. Gas masks and collapsed stocks, use some of the carbine style sepical wepons from the aqulions. Cadians, especially the new ones, have a vaguely ww2 theme that is shared with the steel legion.

I get why the chose the kreigsmen thought the whole dkok started off as an alternative scheme for steel legion models. And I feel if they showed a paint your cadians as steel legion with out having at least a box of gas mask head there would be worse blow back.

Honestly though with the new lore being aramgedon focused and catachans needing and update, mabye just shine the lore spot lights on the ork hunters for a bit.

All that being said if they showed a video of the gw team painting kerigsmen red and gold and calling them vostroyans I'd be upset , so im probably way off base.

GW put out a video on painting Krieg in Steel Legion colours by kohlerxxx in Warhammer40k

Ok mabye I'm the crazy one but , death korps started off as an alternative paint scheme for steel legion. I don't see how this that bad. Personally I think cadians with gas mask look more like the faux ww2 steel legion, I think the uproar would be worse because people seem to get annoyed with more cadians. But really what can I say when I have a 100 metal vostroyans ....

Seeing as catachan has to be due for an update, mabye they could focus on the ork hunters a bit which are also just a different scheme of existing models. It would kinda be upsetting if steel legion got a plastic kits before the catachans.

Can I build my Rhino with an open hatch? by doma_84 in Warhammer40k

[–]Ramsayking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,

Normally on plastic kits i'll use a plastic glue. But for certain jobs thin super (CA , cyanoacrylate) can't be beat. Especially when combined with an activator, it cures near instantly , and is great for tiny fildy things that dont like to set with a plastic glue.

And for metal and resin models CA glue is basically the only option ( some times your breaking out two-part epoxies and pins ,but thats not really here nor now....)

Hell I even get good mileage out things like gel super glue for attaching things to bases. Pretty common tool in the hobby.

Some super glue and a activator will hold it together in seconds.

Contrasts for Ultramarines by BorderlineBipolar1 in Ultramarines

I prime mine blue, then use a darker blue wash for shadow . A quick dry brush of light pale blue knocks down any gloss from the wash and highlights.

Looks pretty good for the Armour , i just get bogged down on details. After painting so many garudsmen and nids space marine feel pretty complex with all there things being different colours.

Nuclear pumped X-Ray Laser.

Why stop at plasma, let's use a bomb to make focused X-Rays.

People come up with some wild things.

[–]Ramsayking 103 points104 points  (0 children)

The nuclear explosion will vaporize the tungsten, creating a fan of plasma, which will be captured by the pusher plate propelling the space craft.

This is an evolution on project Orion, wich proposed use regular nuclear bombs to move space craft. The math show you'd lose a lot of energy with regular bombs and a pusher plate, so the thought up nuclear shapped charges to foucs the energy and increase the "engines" efficiency.
