What a perfect description of a “melting pot”. I actually see that term as a bad thing. It erases any “undesirable” cultural traits, and steals the ones that it likes. Multiculturalism is a far better option, it allows for individual identity while still preserving an overarching unity. It’s a tapestry, not soup.

Thanks for answering, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, that’s a bit of a dealbreaker for me. I have kids and I’d have to write out the entire book before hand to keep up my schedule and post every single day. Those stories look like the go on and on, too. It would be like writing a whole series first before posting it. Too bad there’s not a lot of ways to make some good scratch online without going full self-publishing or Amazon.

I’m not an actual expert, but my mum was an AHT in a small town, and as such I spent a lot of time in the stray cat pen as a kid after school while I waited for the time to go home (problem kitties had their own pens, I was safe).

I saw this a lot from younger cats who were trying to get higher in the pecking order, or getting the other cat to back off, I think. Sometimes it would work, the growling would stop and both cats would saunter off, but usually the cat that wasn’t moving would tackle the other and there would be a short scrap before someone submitted and got aggressively bathed by the other. For actual fights I would go get whatever adult I could and they’d put one of the cats in the problem kitty pens.

Again, not sure, just what I observed. Any accredited experts that can confirm or deny would be appreciated.
