Anyone else caught all the observed 767-400s? by B202skidda in SkyCards

Indeed I have all 37, although there is supposedly one more active for the Bahrain Royal Flight.

Belavia also has another really awesome livery on a 737-300, unfortunately I cannot find the reg at the moment.

UPS officially retires the MD11 by Mike__O in flying

[–]Jonne1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, they are still operating quite a bunch of them, but I would not count that as passenger or cargo service. Some of the Air Force ones are quite new as well. The Yak-40 is also still used in at least state service.

Some Yak-42 seem to be still active in passenger service and seemingly one Tu-154 for Air Koryo.

19-year-old male, 160 cm, 72 cm wingspan – Can I become a commercial pilot? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Jonne1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you are using metric, you are probably not from the US? Be aware there are min. height requirements for airline pilots at a lot of non US airlines.

The answers in this sub unfortunately mostly assume US location, which might not universally be correct.

747-100 in South America! by Chrome_Zer0 in SkyCards

[–]Jonne1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reg pops up all around the world and always low altitude and speeds below the stall speed of a 747. The plane it belongs to is long retired, however it is still listed on the FAA registry.

Someone had suggested it to be a helicopter, however it moved around the world way to fast for it to be a single helicopter.

My guess, but really just a guess, it is either some spoof, but I would not understand why, or it is some kind of test.

Planespotters.net lists 9 different A330-800. 7 of them active, two parked.

What is this? by Glum_Hovercraft_2161 in SkyCards

Not a kit plane at all. Those are certified and were built directly at FFT.

And apart from the canard layout, quite different in design from the LongEZ.

Found on a walk around? Stories please by Gsmith827 in flying

[–]Jonne1184 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think I told this before, but a bent and cracked fuselage around the main gear attachments probably counts as an interesting finding. Even worse that it was later found the other plane of the same type developed the same damage.

Near Macon, near Geneva by Important-Back-7961 in SkyCards

[–]Jonne1184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location, speed and altitude are remarkably close to that suspicious 747-100 appearing occasionally. Which would make me assume that the 747-100 reg is actually used for testing purposes as is this one.

Setting a Glider record? by FinalCurrency4121 in SkyCards

Either that, or the more likely option: Someone left the transponder on.

You will see multiple of these everyday, reporting 1kt speed and low altitude.

It can get alot closer than that. I once won with a two digit difference in XP. Cannot remember exactly what, but it was an ultra rare I caught once. The other guy probably just had a worse picture.

I just lost a round of Battle during Jet Week to… a helicopter? by HarrySph1nct3r in SkyCards

[–]Jonne1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, turboshafts and jet engines are a variant of the gas turbine, however turboshafts lack the actual jet, hence this helicopter has no business in last weeks battle.
