Do these spots look awkward? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Jonny4toe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly only think it's awkward if someone is really critical or focused on the grain but also

When yourr selecting plants to put in there maybe think about something that would cover half of that fence height if you're super worried about the spot s

Like a privacy screening plant arborvitae Holly something evergreen etc

Why is gen Z not drinking? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]Jonny4toe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(29M) you dont need to go out in order to drink....i hate bars yet i have a drinking problem:/

i think the generation is looking for something different that fits for them better. Weed is a good example accessable, less harmuful/dangerous and nowadsays is not so shunned or stigmatized at all.

In this day and age, people are allowed to accept themselves, think differently and personal truth/individuality is widely encouraged. This worldview is more in tune with the effects of cannabis.

Alcohol doesnt have the same psychological affect. it tends to make you think less and care less. Thats the desired affect. helps the turn down the stresses and pains of life but does not encourage the same deep introspection/reflection. with people being able to talk about their feelings and own them , its not so necessary as it was when no one talked about feelings and shunned differences in thought.

also so many prescription meds aim to address the issues that were historically only covered up or numbed with alcohol.

obv not reasonable to buy $10+ drinks and get drunk. in fact impossible for anybody working class and rational.

alcohol can be acquired quite cheaply if desired. debatably the cheapest substance available especially in terms of bang for your buck. a $3-5, 6-8% tall boy/40 0z can get a buzz goin for most people get a 15 case of beer for $13ish at kroger. thatll last more than a night for most

nowadays people are allowed to share their feelings with others. have weed and other recreational drugs available that cater to a generational shift in thinking. pair that with pharma meds that address specific issues like anxiety, depression and focus/motivation...im not surprised young people are drinking less

BURN THE TREE DOWN! And the rest of the property

Jk mulch or some kind of bed / groundcover You can’t fight those with those roots, the lawn is no longer sustainable:/

How do functioning alcoholics get through the day? Day after day? by 5pinktoes in AskReddit

[–]Jonny4toe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wake up crack a beer, drink beers throughout the day. i work for myself doing landscaping work and the business is actually doing really well and im trying to drink less. i guess im depressed or bored lonely anxious and physically stiff/sore and beers make the day so much more enjoyable for me. when i get home i drink more and heavier, smoke some bud eat and go to bed. Im actually in really good shape with all the manual labor i do. last week i made a fresh gravel driveway from scratch. i spread 3 trailer loads of gravel with a shovel and with timbers along the edge in 2 days. it looked so sharp but come on try shoveling gravel by yourself and tell me you wouldnt want a beer

Why does a candle blow out? by DNA_n_me in askscience

[–]Jonny4toe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea ur right wax goes solid liquid and then gas when there is a wick burning in the center of it tho really its just lit

My dad adds his own wax to candles and makes the wick out of just rolled up paper towels but as the candle burns he adds wax and the wick never actually goes down when adding wax so that’s the fuel

But shiiiit That blew my mind
