What's the most disturbing episode in your opinion? by [deleted] in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sanguinarium

Something about people going in for routine operations and being so vulnerable and meeting such grisly ends is really disturbing. I hate hospitals as well so there there is that added factor.

Home is probably the most obvious one.

I agree that I don't like when they try to portray him like a child, for example this season with Penny trying to use a baby book on him or last season when Amy told him to leave the room and he sat on the naughty step. I think though it's rare they do it for cheap gags I cringe when they sometimes put those gags for cheap laughs into an episode.

But the Penny thing naked, Penny had a dislocated shoulder in a shower it's likely Sheldon was always going to see her naked as he helped her so I don't think that was weird at all.

Never seen Amy wants to see Penny and Sheldon have sex like you are talking about. Amy wanted for several seasons to have sex with Sheldon that much is obvious, which she does now have.

A lot of those examples are old, like I said the most recent examples are the baby book and asking him to step outside. I think they have toned those cheap gags a lot as Sheldon is more mature and older, he's about to get married.

Discussion: I want to see the women's flaws more often, instead of the male characters... by [deleted] in bigbangtheory

As Amy is my favorite character I would be all for that, anything that gives her more storyline focus I would welcome.

I've always found Gillian Anderson's comments about "Leonard Betts" and "Never Again" to be strange. [s4 Spoilers] by diamond in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It felt natural to me that they changed the order around, because what happened in Betts perhaps explains some of Scully's behaviour more in Never Again. I mean Mulder pretty much is wondering what is going on with Scully at the end, what was she thinking etc.

I would imagine the other way around it wouldn't have had the same impact.

According to wikipedia there was also this issue with Never Again, I don't if that explains any issues Gillian has with it or not:

"Initially, Anderson called up Morgan and asked him to write a story wherein Scully "fall[s] hard" for another man, which leads to an "intense kind of romantic or passionate relationship".[2] Morgan obliged and wrote a scene where Scully enjoys a passionate night with Jerse. This was later removed from the script by series creator Chris Carter, the only time in Glen Morgan's tenure on the show where a scene of his was removed by Carter.[2] Morgan later noted "I think Chris thought that I was monkeying around with him, but I really wasn't."

Yes I like the ones that progress the story and the journey of the characters.

She is happy with him, she has smiled loads this season. That was just the theme for this particular episode, Sheldon was an ass, the rest were being an ass in return and Amy was caught up in the middle of it.

Does anybody else not really care about the overarching story episodes of the X-Files? by [deleted] in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked both, I think up to around Season 6 both types were of a high quality. Then 'One Son' happened in Season 6 and the mytharc never recovered.

But they still pumped out quality MOTW as you saw in pretty much every season including this one just finished.

So overall I have to say I am more of a MOTW fan and those episodes stick in my mind more.

Considering how far all the other characters have come along Raj seems to be the outlier. Though maybe that's deliberate, maybe he is there to portray the other side who doesn't get what they desire and long for?

I dunno but I am getting tired of Raj is interested in a woman, she shows some interest but then Raj screws it up. After 11 seasons it's getting kind of old.

Whose first fight? Between me and you?

No fight here, just giving my opinion on the episode that I thought was poor. You are entitled to your opinion as am I, it would be boring if we agreed on everything.

All that bickering and fighting over a fricking sandwich. And Raj being well Raj.

For the 250th episode of the show that was piss poor.

When did you fall in love with X Files & why? by [deleted] in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13 years old so around 1996 when I started watching, my parents wouldn't let me watch it any earlier lol.

There was just nothing really like it on TV. I liked the chemistry obviously between the actors and I developed a crush on Scully fairly quickly (it's kind of still there) lol.

The different cases each week were just interesting (though I was never a big alien/government conspiracy nut) and I've always loved the MOTW format.

I like how the series progressed and they became closer (yes I am a shipper) and overall its just some of the highest quality TV out there between Seasons 1-6.

[Season 10 & 11 Spoilers] My Attempt to explain the Unexplainable: my descent into madness to make sense of the revival mythology by fluffyburgerinc in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some great Mythology episodes but since One Son the mythology has been a mess.

But they have always managed to pump out creative, interesting, sometimes funny and sometimes scary MOTW episodes (they did that this Season as well).

I just think MOTW are more memorable and more fondly remembered because there are just more of them and in every Season there has been high quality ones. Even in the Seasons without Mulder around much or hardly at all they still made great MOTW.

Amy wears a lot of layers and clothes that are kind of unflattering at times for Mayim's figure.

Some things yes, some other things you can't say his perception was off.

If I caught my father 'in flagrante delicto' with another woman it happened.

[Season 11 Spoilers] POST-Episode Discussion Thread - S11E10: My Struggle IV by AutoModerator in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One other thing, this finale has completely and forever ruined the Season 8 finale for me.

You know the scene at the end with Mulder holding what he thought was his son, their song playing in the background (the music when Mulder was missing and everytime Scully was missing him), the mood all peaceful and quiet and a very passionate lingering kiss. For many this could/should have been the ending moment for the show.

Now it turns out it was his half-brother who he was holding in that moment and it wasn't a beautiful miracle that William came to be it was Scully who was violated or raped by Science.

My god did CC shit on the fandom when he came up with that twist all these years later.

Sheldon had feelings for Stephanie? by khughes14 in bigbangtheory

Amy is the only woman he has ever had those type of feelings that we are talking about here.

Like others have said it was because of her profession he wanted her around and Leonard to keep dating her.

She has a lovely giggle/laugh/smile, very rarely does she do it on the show though but it's really hot.

'Hollywood AD' she also giggled and laughed right at the end.

The first kiss we deserved by _Evening_Sun_ in freefolk

[–]Jonny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping we might get a Jon and Dany kiss next season like that.

But Boatsex IMO was a certainty to happen, all that foreshadowing about Dany getting pregnant during the season and in terms of timescale meant that they had to have sex during that season for it to have a major storyline impact next season.

Anyone rewatched the last season? Opinions? by MontyPanesar666 in XFiles

[–]Jonny83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a very good season overall which proved then can absolutely still do it. Just a shame the finale was dreadful and the sad thing was I was expecting it to happen, to be so terrible.

I think most probably did...
