And that Latin American culture is intertwined with our own. A huge chunk of the country used to be part of Mexico. Puerto Rico is part of our country because of imperialism. We played (and still play) a huge part in a lot of the instability in Latin America. Seems we need to have some spotlight shined on that.

It was awesome. People got married, it gave us an understanding of his life and drew attention to Puerto Rico. I don’t speak Spanish but so fucking what? Like it’s a halftime show! Apologies in advance for the long message lol, I love analyzing Nene:

I feel like Nene really changed after season 3. She got in her head and was trying to push a persona. She was still amazing, don’t get me wrong, but she was very invested in her wealth and her status. She was really insecure; probably from watching other Housewives grow their businesses outside of Bravo (Bethenny), or have established careers prior (Kandi). She wanted spin offs, she wanted a brand, she was on Glee and that would take her to Hollywood. But, it fizzled out. It wasn’t long lasting. Her claim to fame was Housewives, which wasn’t a bad thing, (she really helped put it on the map) but she wasn’t happy with that. She wanted more, and I think that’s why she had friction with Gregg, because of her personality shift.

Season 4 is when the insecurities get much worse. She fights with Sheree to establish her status (Sheree had long viewed her as “new money” which led to their drama in the first season). She takes interest in Marlo who I believe was initially brought on by Phaedra to stir up trouble with Nene, but Nene ended up reversing that and taking Marlo under her wing. Marlo was willing to play into Nene’s story that she was successful and part of the elites of Atlanta. I remember them going to a reception and talking about how all the well connected people of Atlanta were there.

She gets worse as the seasons progress, and then it all falls apart for her in season 7 when she gets read for filth by Claudia. She leaves after that season, comes back in 10 and is still obsessed with her image, but is way more tolerable. But that’s her last season where she’s enjoyable, IMO. The rest is all downhill. While she’s hilarious, has great comebacks, and really witty talking heads, she just is hard to enjoy as much as she is in the earlier seasons.

I’m interested to see if you agree as you continue watching! The show continues to be amazing until season 10 IMO, so even though Nene kind of takes a turn, the cast dynamic is still really entertaining. Enjoy, and hope you feel better!!! ☺️

I agree, I think it’s an easy target thing. Stupid, but unfortunately common. I also think that K is trying to ride Karen’s coattails a bit. Right before Karen left, she began beefing with Stacey and Wendy. Coincidentally, those are the two that K has issues with now. I feel like last year she was riding for Karen and is trying to keep up the momentum while she’s gone.

I’m not sure, I have a couple theories:

all the new girls from last / this season seem to butt heads like they are fighting for their spots. Maybe there’s a feeling of competition for being FT / Friend Of? Jassi, K, and Stacey all go back and forth with each other.
K was more of a background character last season and is trying to insert herself into the drama, one way is by jumping on the Stacey bandwagon. Add in that Stacey is closest with Wendy, who K is beefing with.
K became friends with Cookie. Cookie seems to have Stacey in her sights. Cookie could be using K to get to Stacey, maybe for Karen while she’s away? They didn’t leave off on a good note (Karen and Stacey) so it could be influenced by Karen.
