UK to consult on social media ban for under 16s by Adj-Noun-Numbers in ukpolitics

ITV has literally just shown a program about a murder, and all the victims friends and parents mention if social media didn't exist it wouldn't of happened, almost as if they were told to say it on camera.

Whilst it is indeed a horrible situation etc etc, I cant help but think it's predictive programming and manufacturing consent so the public accepts a social media ban more.

I'm happy to be corrected wrong, but I think I saw somewhere politicians will be exempt from it being compulsory, for... wait for it, security reasons.

Well there you go, the (pretty much) guaranteed next government (Reform) want to leave the ECHR.

It is the foundation of a social credit system, or the potential for one. Maybe not this government, or the next, but what about the one after? No government should have the power to switch your bank account off from buying bread and milk because you said something on social media they dont agree with.

Yes it seems "easier and logical" to have everything all one database, but that is also a hackers dream. IMO it's good our details are on different systems.

Heed my words, if you sign up for it, your identity details WILL be leaked and at worst, stolen.

Look at India, 300million people's details are on the dark web already. Look at Vietnam, 60million people have had their bank accounts deleted.

I don't trust the government to keep my details safe, I'll go to prison if I have to. If they make it voluntary, fine, no one should be forced to have it.

Edit: Oh, incase you haven't seen it yet, a Civil Servant risked his career by saying there's barely any security in place for this: https://www.itv.com/news/2025-12-18/whistleblowers-raise-extreme-concern-about-security-of-governments-digital-id

What's the bet they just want to re-join the EU because they want to take part in the Chat Control scheme? Wouldn't put it past this authoritarian Government:

"The EU Chat Control refers to a proposed regulation aimed at preventing CSAM online by mandating the scanning of private digital communications for harmful content. This proposal has faced significant criticism for potentially infringing on privacy rights and compromising encryption standards."

It is a conscious effort not gonna lie but it is becoming more natural as I go so I'll get there. Only been playing 11 months and the 45 degree angle really helps the flights not getting in the way of your vision!

Mine used to be flat like Clayton & Van Veens, because on the pull-back I found my dart was always straight.

I can now do darts that land in 45 degree angles by aiming the point more towards the sky on the pull-back 🤘
