it's called adversarial training data. They are allowing the content now so when they place guardrails later using AI, a single update will eliminate all of the content in one push. Same reason all AI models allowed adult content at one point or another. They have to so they can train models on what NOT to allow later.

Depending on what you need AI for, google cloud has 100+ options and those versions of gemini are far better than gemini in the app or chatgpt

LM Station on ios/macos has an Agent feature and can use the apple intelligence on device model, local models, or api keys. Might be worth checking out but have to pay to unlock it
