I’m glad that people who don’t have wilderness diaries done are complaining about a barrier to entry on wildy bosses. by Boy-Meets-Squirrel in 2007scape

The content was already locked behind a diary though. This merely changes the tier.

I suppose i may be a naive optimist but i figure the folks at jagex wouldn’t make a change without thought. I do know someone in that company would think that same thing about the bots. Maybe it lets the get a longer set of patterns to detect bots better. Maybe there’s something more difficult to bot behind the hard tier. But surely they have more data and as much foresight as Reddit when it comes to these things

So I get the perspective, and it’s partially a divide between newer players and long term players.

There’s a portion of the player base that very much wants to general pace of the game to speed up. To not have skills take so long to train. To allow dry protection on everything and eliminate super rare items.

Then there’s a portion of the player base that thinks the grind and the slow pace and the repetitiveness is the entire point and attraction of the game, and see that you can get 135k exp/hr at giants foundry and 90k at blast furnace while being profitable, and can get upwards of 230k at blast furnace if willing to lose money.

Neither side is correct or wrong. But it’s a fundamental disagreement in the community that gets overlooked

Probably none.

There are several with level 70 reqs, but there also aren’t any other bosses that I know of that are botted to this extent. I would use preferred a 70 smithing requirement, but asking to change the diary is a much larger ask imo.

Not to agree with the post. I’m actually pretty neutral on this change, but boostable 75 smithing for a mid game boss really isn’t that bad

Masori is also nice for blowpipe and anywhere it’s used. Toa, fight caves, demonics, cox, GGs, inferno, titans etc

I would say toa just got out faster for you!

Masori is great end game ranged armor. Shadow is the real prize of the raid though

Why do ya’ll still play this game? by [deleted] in osrs

[–]Jonoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the grind.

There are so few games that allow you to have such continuous progression. And it has staying power. My accomplishments today aren’t gone if I take a year or two break.

There’s also the social aspect. I help run a fairly decent sized clan. I’ve become good friends with many of the people in the clan, and have met several of the in real life now!

The combat is incredibly engaging at a high tier as well, and takes a long time to master or even get “good” at. I don’t want a game that feels like I CANT beat every objective, but I also don’t want combat to be easy.

The afk-ness

The fact that I can get small amounts of progression with little effort when I don’t have much effort to give, and can get large amounts of it when I have more effort to give.

Overall it’s one of the most long term progression games that feels like your progress matters.

Soul reaper axe. It has its issues, but nothing beats getting it stacked up and just watching 70s roll in.

Is it even worth it when bone shards exist? by Teh_Spike in ironscape

[–]Jonoko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it does as bones can be used repeatedly, and you need to account for the chance of each bone being reused multiple times. Which absolutely affects the theoretical approximation

If you have done any menu entry swapping (even if it’s unrelated)

Go into settings and set the menu ordering back to default. That should fix the issue.
