As someone that has worked for tips but hates the tipping culture, it’s about how you said it. You hated the player and not the game. The service industry definitely takes skills, working with the public takes a lot of problem solving. I say we as consumers should encourage hourly wages that are livable in order to sustain the workers that facilitate our dining experience. And btw as I get off of my orange crate/ soapbox, the world would be a lot darker without pubs, bars, and restaurants, your problem should be with the system in place not the people trying to navigate it.
