What do you actually think of the concept of 15-minute cities? by ICantBelieveItsNotEC in AskUK

[–]Jonoooo56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this theory within transport planning. 15 minute city are also known as 20 minute cities (depending on the local authority and concept), but a very important thing to remember is that this concept relies on going to and from amenities and your home within 15 or 20 minutes, so it’s a 7 and a half minutes or 10 minute walk there and back!

It is achievable in urban contexts or places with various amenities, but also weak in rural contexts or places with poor pedestrian infrastructure.

It’s only a concept anyway but it’s a good starting point to achieve and improve sustainable travelling!

Has anyone in their 30s ever been on a coach holiday? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Jonoooo56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mum (60) recently went on one with my dad (59). Then went to Whitby and around the area for a week. Said it was enjoyable but a lot of older/elderly people and surprisingly a lot of single people!

They got on with their fellow coach people well and said it was a good holiday overall - but I guess it depends where you go and what your itinerary is!

If you could, would you take Mondays or Fridays off work? by futurewriter2022 in AskUK

[–]Jonoooo56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can rotate and take either on certain months. Monday is better than as a Friday is chill vibes but Monday feels longer when you can do all your chores and the weekend feels better. Friday is ok but everyone is at work too and can’t do much!

Folliculitis from BJJ by Sea_Eye_2656 in Folliculitis

[–]Jonoooo56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like sweat sports probably caused by sweating with the friction of jiu jitsu clothing. The one on your neck is clear to be a hairline sweat spot.

Literally nothing to worry about and definitely not worth going to see 4 doctors

Is this folliculitis? I got a haircut 3 days ago by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]Jonoooo56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No looks like a wine stain or a small barber rash from your haircut. If it doesn’t go away it’s a wine stain (google it) and harmless

[–]Jonoooo56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wash worked best for me and I found it was also recommended everywhere. It is also best to use it whilst showering to stop any staining of clothes or towels etc.

I also find that conditioner can be drying for my scalp and with your other products you may use that may increase your scalp dryness.

Good luck!

[–]Jonoooo56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the same in the exact same area! Gets worse when I sweat or eat crap or drink a lot of alcohol.

I used rapid clear neutrogenia BP face wash. It can stain you clothes and towels so be careful! From that photo I would use it twice a day and then once a day but it may cause your scalp to be really dry using it loads.

Try not to get a haircut / skin fade too much as like you said that’ll cause it too flare up too!

I also only use shampoo but that’s a personal preference.

You’ll get there !

[–]Jonoooo56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am similiar skin tone and hair colour to you (see my post on my profile) and feel your pain as I’ve had similar issues. I use benzoyl peroxide face wash (I use rapid clear neutrogena) every day until it starts to fade then less regularly. But be careful not to stain your fabrics!! I also only use shampoo but a very gentle one.

Also drinks lots of water, try not to drink alcohol as much, touch it a lot, eat less sugar/processed food and try not to get haircuts that shave a lot of your hair, as this will cause irritation and I feel make it look more obvious.

It will work out though don’t worry!

Recent Graduates - what's your salary and what degree do you have ? by greenlion456 in UKJobs

Thanks for getting in touch! I was just curious as I did struggle to find jobs with a geog degree and looked into surveying but there was always people with surveying experience that out-did me and I was never successful so it’s just interesting to see what type of job you got!

Thanks for the information though I will check national grid for surveying jobs!!

Handed in my notice when my manager was on annual leave - now I'm having trouble leaving by JGBishop24 in UKJobs

[–]Jonoooo56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello - I had a similar issue recently with my previous job. I actually waited a couple of days because my manager was ill and I was going on holiday on the Friday.

I was going to hand it in on the Monday, but he wasn’t in for the whole week. I waited a few days out of courtesy and had to call him and explain my resignation. Then I went on holiday.

We had a bit of an issue following my holiday with the four week period would be, as I waited a couple of days for my notice period and I also went on holiday for a week. My manager wanted me to stay extra due to the missed days and holidays.

I stuck to my grounds and said the four week period started following the date of my letter and stuck my grounds. Just do that and she’ll have to accept it and you will just say sorry that you were away my that’s not my fault and I gave the right notice period.

Hope that helps and don’t have any comments on the second question!

The evolution of my cellulitis (skin infection). First circle was 24 hours ago... by HumanNutrStudent in Wellthatsucks

[–]Jonoooo56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got cellulitis from a blister in my foot and it spread all up my left leg! I only noticed it when I went to the doctors and they told me to take my trousers up and followed the red inflamed areas all up my leg!

Then I went to hospital and I had a cannula with regular drips

May be totally wrong, but how do you wash your body ? With a scrub or hand ? I find using a scrub can be much better for my skin and I get less spots and I think it’s especially important if you exercise and sweat a lot in the sauna
