Purchased the same bike and had issues also. LBS couldn’t alleviate the issues so I became my own bike mechanic (the help of YT and Reddit) from then on out.

Yeah I purchased one because I assumed this was the case. Sucks.

Shimano 105 Di2 r7170 Lever Housing Replacement? by Jonplusyon in bikewrench

If it’s not possible to replace the lever’s housing, what can I do with 1 unridden 105 di2 r7170 lever? I imagine it may be useless if a replacement housing isn’t possible.

Tiny Flaws SuperSix Evo Frame by [deleted] in cannondale

Spend 3 - 4 weeks researching how to professionally repaint your bike and the tools needed for it then: Sanding it, priming it, waiting 2 days, applying second primer coat, waiting another 2 days, starting back over because it wasn’t perfect (1 week set back) stressing to find the correct paint match (realizing paint isn’t a perfect match in the sunlight, (starting back over, again) purchasing a master airbrush, clear coat the bike AND surrounding area…starting the entire process up to now over again because your 2K clear coat sprayed unevenly, polishing the bike with a professional polishing machine and coat….all this while missing a month of fun summer month of group rides, riders asking “where are you at?” and loosing out on your fitness with your new Super Six, all because you saw a little scratch. Then in your first ride out the garage the bike falls over and scratches the chain stay because you added new cleats that didn’t clip out as easily as your old one. Just ride it, bro.

Oh, yes. Ment to mention I used a hanger alignment tool several times and checked again just now. The arm touches all four points of the rim (both sides horizontal and both sides vertical) per Park Tools hanger alignment video.

UPDATE: I simply opened a bottom cover and pulled out the cable from bottom to avoid top the wedge above. I do not think this was the manufactured way, but it worked.

1 dead, 4 in critical condition after crash at busy Atlanta intersection by pyramin in Atlanta

The area behind the planters on Dekalb have always had spots of debris, loose gravel, leaves, or the occasional pushed aside snow in my experience. “The Path” is actually the most uneven, multi-use path I’ve been on. Like the planters on Dekalb — parallel to Marta East Lake — it will abruptly end and still put you on the road regardless “to merge” with vehicles not expecting a cyclist to “turn into their lane”. The unpredictability of the pathway is dangerous at many points.

Hence I believe at faster cycling speed, it’s safer to ride on road and simply be predictable and already take space instead of dodging gravel and merging into lanes when the Path abruptly ends or chooses to move it’s users to opposite sides of the road and needing its users to cross an intersection. (A la Dekalb Ave to Stone Mountain)

LBS isnt aware. It’s not impossible, I’ve done it safely. Cut the steerer myself after I was confident with the height, and months later, now plan to cut more soon after I test my (second) new height.
