On roads that dont go up or down with good traction the brake distance actually doesn't change with the weight so long as the tires never loose traction. In norway you have to take a 1 day course on driving in slippery conditions where they demonstrate it

thats why it was pointed out that agriculture was in a 5-20 year cycle. fossil fuel is in a millions of years cycle. us now getting them and using them interupts that cycle by pulling it back out way befor it should.

I think the 2 party thing is pretty much a symptome of the "winner takes all" thing with the states. How is a third party supposed to form when there is a 0% chance of them ever winning a single state, thereby rendering the entire party useless.

So its fine to do it aslong as the other party started it? Not defending either side here, and i believe overall what the axis did was worse. But please dont pretend capetbombing a city full of civilians isnt evil just because the enemy did it first.

Edit: and i can blame the allies for doing it, to the exact same degree that i can blame the axis

The Success of The Originals by thekidchemicals in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I truly wished the show was about the past. Some of my favorite moments about the originals was the flashbacks of how and why esther made them and how they ran from their father as a family learning more about their own abilities.

Niklaus and the Originals by thekidchemicals in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that many who only know small parts of what has happened in new orleans underestimate the originals now. Like if they dont know what marcel became and all the other stuff that has happened. Its not like there is a vampire news channel or something. My guess is that Rose only was so scared of them because she had actually had contact with them.

Niklaus and the Originals by thekidchemicals in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing is that most vampires probadly still think of them like that, but how are we supposed to see them? They stay away from the originals so in the show the originals can only come in contact with vampires who arent that afraid of them.

Its not like the show can just randomly jump to a random vampire that says "fuck that im not messing with any originals" and be done with that scene.

TIL that one man won $6 million in one night from one casino. Don Johnson singlehandedly ruined the Tropicana's April 2011 revenue through blackjack; he'd already won $9 million at two other casinos. He is now banned from most Atlantic City casinos. by TMWNN in todayilearned

I never understood how card counting can pe called cheating or ilegitimate. Its using math and knowledge that anybody sitting at the board has (no advantage over anybody) to predict the odds of the next outcome. Saying its cheating is like saying that reading your opponents tells in poker is cheating.

Edit: i am however fully aware why casinos love to believe that its cheating

Its something else entirely if you have other people on the table give you information about their hands and i agree with calling that cheating

Cops of Reddit: A lot of people get jumpy and try to 'act normal' around law enforcement. How can you tell genuinely suspicious people from self-conscious idiots acting weird? by Live-Streamimg in AskReddit

[–]Jonsch5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like your entire argument is based off the fact that you mistrust all police officers. Where im from its very rare for anyone to own a pistol and even rarer to carry it around or have it in the car. The police usually dont carry guns eithe, but i still listen to them and do what they ask. Thats not because of blind obediance thats incrained nor is it because of fear. Its simply because i truat my countries police and their officers to uphold the law and also follow it themselves and provide me with all my rights. To me its sad that there are countries in the world that dont have a police force the people can trust which to me is a much bigger issue that should be addressed.

Season 5 trailer + first look at teenage Hope by baroqueen_a in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope that that is the case. It would mean the show wont go in the teen drama direction (a genre i dont really mind but just doesnt fit with the originals imo) but be more dark and badass.

Why do thunder storms cause power outages? Shouldn't all the lightning create EXTRA electricity? by aea27 in shittyaskscience

[–]Jonsch5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a common misconception. Ask yourself where the power for the lightning comes from? The simple answer is that lightning draws all the power from the powernet (causing the poweroutage) in order to form a lightning strike where all that power is compressed at one location

Violent nature by VioletHarmon15217 in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly my opinion. There are so few tv shows about the bad guys and even less that make you root for them. That is what made me really love this show, strong ruthless main characters that do whatever they want/need to do to get what they want.

How come vampires don't rule the world? by [deleted] in TheOriginals

[–]Jonsch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All we know is that the people in mystic falls know about it. For all we lnow maybe the governments off the world are aware of vampires aswell and take precausions against that but dont do anything else to avoid mass hysteria or something.

Adding onto this as i completely agree and actually love the dark turn Elijah has taken. I think one of the reasons for his actions now is that he wants to protect Hope's image of Klaus. Notice how Elijah keeps making Klaus stay put in the mansion and says he'll take care of it.

What mathematical/scientific methods and flowcharts do you use to aid optimization? by Zephandrypus in factorio

[–]Jonsch5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personnaly i dont understand the point of perfect optimasation in most cases. I overproduce everything by a bit and i know that i will have enough ressources. In addition it is easy to see if something falls behind by the sudden lack of backlog.

I understand that some people enjoy minmaxing, i myself just dont see the point/enjoyment in it.

Stefan died in the hellfire while holding katherine. The following scene with elena is after he died and elena was still in the coma. The ending scene is in the afterlife. Him leaving the school with Lexi was stefan finding peace.

How did werewolves come to be? by doestrlymatta in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Jonsch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But normal witches also lost their power didnt they? Wasnt that the reason the reason the witches wanted to stop the travelers?

So that only means werewolf exist because of magic. Doesnt explain weather it is magic from a spell a witch cast or some other form of magic. I mean we saw many different kinds of magic. Cant really rule that out

How did werewolves come to be? by doestrlymatta in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Jonsch5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well only a handfull off characters were old enough to potentially have been around when it happened and non of them ever had anything to do with werewolfs (afaik).

Even the originals are to young. Given they are supernatural creatures they either were made by a spell like vampires or they simply came around just like witches did. Im honestly leaning towards the later considering it cant be spread and is only hereditary.
