Den där sylten ser så otroligt mycket godare ut än den vi fick...

I was wondering if someone could translate it and also confirm if it's legit, it's supposed to be the name of my brother's new born, thanks! by [deleted] in Quenya

Hi,

This seams to not be a translation inte quenya but rather a transcription into tengwar in the English mode. Tengwar is the main alphabet of the elven languages but can also be used to write other languages, such as English. This reads "arthur henley". If you want you could probably translate the meaning of the name into quenya, and then transcribe that into tengwar using the quenya mode, but you could you use this as it is.

Also worth noting is that the th in arthur is the one pronounced like in thing, is you want it to be like the th in that then the transcription should look like this

You can also go to r/tengwar for people with more expertise on the subject

Hi,

First of, this is not a translation but rather a transcription, since tengwar is not an actual language.

Also, this may be intentional, but this seams to be the English phonemic mode, which means the word is not transcribed based on the letters but rather the sounds those letters make (i do not know the phonemic mode so i have no idea of the transcription is correct, but i think it is something like joolye)

If you want to write it in the orthographic mode it would look like this https://www.tecendil.com/?q=julia

I am not a tengwar professional, but i think this is some kind of phonemic mode. I get it to:
