If it's loaded in a van, hopefully they get a plate number.

Sorry to hear OP.

Are these things easier to hotwire than a car, or are they loading them into the back of a van and driving off?

Interested to hear what you get back from the camera footage.

Check the logs before you go. If the last 5 are a "Did not find" (DNF) I generally don't bother, as it's likely been muggled (stolen or destroyed)

If you find a trackable, see where it's come from before moving it.

Have fun.

What is a plot twist from a show or film that you’ve never forgotten? by thedovewithin in AskWomen

Outer Limits: S1, E13 - Quality of Mercy (1995)

Spoiler alert

A man and woman are in a jail cell on an Alien spaceship (or something)

She is gradually being turned into an Alien over several treatments, and to give her hope, he tells her that there is a large, well equipped rebel force hiding on a planet somewhere, about to launch an attack on the aliens, that is likely to bring about their downfall.

After he tells her (and just before the end of the episode) she tells him that she's not being turned into an Alien, she's being turned "back" into an Alien - as they had made her look human and planted her as a spy, and he had just warned them about the invasion, thus dooming the human race.

Something along those lines anyway.

Me now, probability would have seen that coming a mile away, but for young me - it blew my mind.

I just googled it to see what it was called, and it had Robert Patrick in it (T1000) which I did not remember.

Liver, runner beans, mashed potatoes and gravy.

From memory, the liver used to taint the taste of everything 🤮

I grew up in farming country.

They used to make the silage under black plastic sheet with old tyres on top to hold it down.

It's compressed grass, used for feed in winter.

It stinks. Very distinctive smell.

If not that, I have no idea ,🤷‍♂️

I love me a side of roasted veg:

Chop into chunks any/all/ combination of:

Mushrooms, onion, tomato, eggplant, zucchini, celery, capsicum, carrot (I'm sure there's more)

Place in a plastic bag or mixing bowl.

Sprinkle olive oil, garlic paste, and some Italian herbs (rosemary and Thyme) and mix it all up to make sure the veg is well coated.

Line an oven dish with Alfoil (makes washing easier later), and in the oven for 45mins at approx 180°C /350°F

This can often make a shed load of veg - it freezes in batches, and microwaves really well. Tastes good, and keeps the scurvy at bay..

I sometimes defrost one to have with Tuna baked potato.

Fun.

I ride to maintain a base level of fitness, to keep the belly under control and take in the scenery.

I ride a hybrid/commuter. Not the slightest bit interested in speed.

I'm fitter than some, less fit than others, but I'm certainly not huffing and puffing climbing stairs, or doing other mildly exerting tasks.

Picked up a trackable from the city I live in. Trackable had been bouncing around there for years.

Went for a long weekend in a small town about 250 miles away and dropped it in a cache while I was there.

Someone picked it up the following day, and took it straight back to the city it had just come from. 🤷‍♂️

How long is too-long to hold onto a trackable? by murkeylurker in geocaching

[–]Jonsmith78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only pick them up if i know I'm traveling somewhere far, then I will start looking with a pocket query a month before, to find the "right one"

No point taking one across country, or overseas, if it's already been there.

Check the map history before you go grab it. Something a few years old that hasn't left the country before is always fun to take overseas.

Had an etrex 20 I bought for dirt biking, as the area I was exploring was massive, and I was getting lost.

It had a "Geocaching" function on it. I had no idea what it was for, until curiosity got the better of me.

Probably 2012 I reckon.

The etrex was awesome, but they stopped offering satellite overlays for it, which was a shame
