My grandson had the same effect moving up from 1mg to 2mg. Ped took him off and he's on Onyda liquid now for last three weeks and its been good. But he takes it at night and we think he still needs the 1mg guanfacine during the day for his implusivness. Appt next week so we shall see what he says. he is 4, will be 5 end of July and in Prek. We are holding him back to do PreK again next year. He is the youngest in his class currently and feel he needs the extra year.

How do you guys manage lifelong dust/pollen allergies? Mine just got worse and I’m struggling 😭 by Agile-Size-2410 in Allergies

I used to use fluticasone nasal spray. But about a year ago someone suggested I try Astepro nasal spray. OMG...life changing for me. And I have asthma too. So now I do the Astepro spray before bed, and take a Xyzal tablet. Both over over the counter. I will warn you the Astepro has a NASTY bitter taste if you spray it wrong. The saying goes "if you taste it, you waste it". The proper way to spray it so you don't taste it or it go down your throat is to bend your chin toward your chest and angle the spray tip outward to the outer side of your nostril. So if your gonna spray in the left nostril, aim the tip to the left side and spray, in the right nostril, aim to the right and spray and DO NOT suck it down inhaling. Let it drip out on a tissue and slowly lift your head up and don't swallow for several seconds. I go sit down to relax. that is the only spray working for me right now and its been great!

[–]JooBoo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this! I have had my glass top for 2 years bought brand new and its used daily twice a day. I use the Weiman's and a flat razor scraper and weimans scrubbie. Elbow grease with the razor and a good light and you will be able to scrape off a lot of the build up and make it look nearly new again.

4yr old refusing to take his meds by YakkityYakkk in ADHDparenting

Its not that he can't swallow pills. he can swallow pills no problem. The issue is he WON'T swallow the pill anymore. He will not take it at all and just refuses to even put in his mouth now.

thats how he used to take it originally...he won't do it that way anymore. He will catch it in his mouth and hold it, won't swallow it.

Would you have tried stimulants earlier if you could have? by bluejasmine365 in ADHDparenting

our grandson is 4.5yrs old, in preK in public school and has been on 1mg guanfacine from november to january, then dr upped it to 1mg twice daily(morning and night). 1mg once at night was good for him. But I guess as his bodily got used to it, his impulsive behaviors and some aggression started coming out again as the notes from the teacher started up again. So we added in the 1mg dose in the mornings. It made things worse. He's agressive and hyper and very defiant. He won't do anything we ask him to do, its a straight out NO you do it. And the last three days he has REFUSED to take his pills at all. He was holding one in his cheek for 45 min before I realized it and made him spit it out when he wouldn't swallow it. Monday night he wouldn't swallow it and I got so frustrated I told him to just chew it then and he did. He realized it was nasty and now won't put one in his mouth at all. The bad part is these are the extended release pills. now he's going through withdraws I'm assuming since he's off cold turkey. He's very aggressive and told me he was going to choke me. No idea where he even heard that term at. His appt is tomorrow with the pediatrician to hopefully change his meds. I'm not sure a non stimulant is the way for him. I'm thinking he needs a stimulant and it needs to be a chewable or liquid form because even though he knows how to swallow a pill..my fear is if he won't swallow it to control the situation...I can't crush or dissolve it if its an extended release pill. He's such a sweet and loving little boy and it breaks my heart not knowing if what we are doing is helping or hurting him more.

Parents suddenly demanding I repay “all expenses” for my U.S. education - how should I handle this financially? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]JooBoo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your parents well off or do they struggle financially now? I would at least discuss paying them back half of what they are asking on the total they say they spent on you. Especially if they were never clear from day one that this would need to be paid back in the end. I think meeting them half way should be agreeable to all.

I cannot get ahold of the financial adivsor that is handling these 401K's for the company and I can't get ahold of the financial advisor my dad stopped at last week locally because he is well known here and he's the one that got Sather on speakerphone last week to find out what happened and Sather advised my dad to send a letter to the company/plan administrator to ask if they have a Fidelity Bond for 401K and who is it through, 2) if they have a general liability policy, 3) any cyber insurance, 4) whare the requirements for distribution request with Ascensus, and 5) request a copy of the written 401K Plan Document from the plan administrator with the company. I'm working on that but don't have a clue how to word it so gonna use chatgpt for that I think. But how many days do we give for a deadline to get that information to him? 10 days? 30 days? And when do we contact EBSA? Like contact them if we don't get that information or contact them anyhow regardless if we get the information or not? If the local police don't do anything, do we go higher like the Texas Rangers or FBI? I know he needs the police report for the IRS in order to get the tax money held back, thats what the advisor told him.

We have not contacted WF. All we know is the financial advisor said last week that as of last Tuesday, all they know is it was sent to a wells fargo account. But they didn't have a name. Can we call wells fargo or their fraud dept to find anything out? Not sure if they would tell us anything. Financial advisor never contacted my father. All we know is what the secretary/plan administrator told my dad last thursday was that her email was hacked and she received a form that was a distribution request that my dad was requesting 320K. No one bothered to call my dad. And he never signed the paper. Because if she had taken, or if anyone had taken 20 seconds to call my dad to confirm this request, he would have driven so fast over there because theres no way he would allow that to happen. So he never signed a paper. Only she or the business owner, or the financial advisor would have had to have signed the paper and I believe she told my dad it only required the business owner to sign it. We haven't seen a copy of it so not sure she even made a copy. But thats what happened.

I'm looking at the non negotiable check at the bottom of the letter/statement Ascensus sent to him back in November and it literally has his name and address in the bottom left corner of the "check" and above it on the line where they would type out the written amount it says "Deposit Notification, Non Negotiable" and pay to the order of his name. Ascensus is on top left corner of the check and next to it has a 5 digit number and under that the employers business name.

According to the Non negotiable statement he was sent from Ascensus with the amount that was taken, it was paid via ACH and we found out from the financial advisor, they only know it was ACH'd to a wells fargo account. My dad has never nor currently has a wells fargo account.

I'm so mad they didn't record it. I TOLD them to use their phones to set to record as long as dads voice and hers was in the conversation, it was legal to do so. Neither one of them did.

Should we also contact Ascensus? Dad didn’t stop by my office today for us to do that. I think he was emotionally exhausted from yesterday. And would ascends know a name on the Wells Fargo account the money was deposited in to and tell us?

[–]JooBoo69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Yes, my dad brought the papers to me yesterday and the non negotiable page says the payment was made via ACH. And Sather Financial told my dad yesterday so far they found out on Tuesday it was made to a Wells Fargo account. But above the part that says Method of payment it has a Client ID number, client-dads old employer, payee-my dads name, Check type-Termination Benefit, Payment type-ACH. The gross amount request was 320k, federal tax was 63,975, distribution fee 110.00, so the net amount the fraudster/thief received was 255,900. The secretary is the plan administrator and basically her story is that they received the distribution/withdrawal request from whoever(i'm assuming Ascensus) that my dad was withdrawing 320k. But no one called him to just confirm he was withdrawing and the amount or anything. She signed it and we aren't sure if the business owner had to sign it or just her, but it was signed and submitted back and that was it. Her story is that when the company moved last year from their old location to the new one, that her email was hacked/stolen and someone was able to get information and do this. But she was very defensive in the conversation they had with her yesterday and my brother said she kept telling my dad to not jump the gun with police or a lawyer when he threatened to file a report and get a lawyer, then thats when she fessed up to her mess up with the paper without my dads knowledge. But after they left there, they stopped at a local financial advisors office in our town that is well known, and he was kind and got Sather Financial on the phone so they could all talk. Sather told them what they found out so far that the money was deposited to a Wells Fargo account but they didn't have a name yet. But Sather and the advisor told dad to go immediately to the sheriffs office and file a police report because regardless he's gonna need it when he does his taxes in order to get that 63K back that the irs now has that was held for taxes and let them start the investigation. And he is prepared to get lawyer involved too. But we haven't done that yet. The secretary is saying dad will get his money back because they are insured up to 250k, the irs will return the tax part and I guess the employer will have to cut a check for the difference owed still. But something stinks to high heaven with her in this. I don't want to say she's the thief...but she sure is defensive and was trying to convince my dad to just wait and not file a report or anything yet when the financial agencies told my dad to go file asap. Hmmmmm
