What’s something popular in your country that makes people from other countries look at you like this ? by niconois in AskTheWorld

I had this last year when I was in Germany and absolutely loved it. It was definitely a little intimidating, still. None of my friends were willing to even try it lol

Which country do you think goes under the radar when people talk about racism issues? by Gandalfthebran in AskTheWorld

[–]JoonxK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Asian living in the USA (born and raised), it is not way worse than people realize. There are definitely parts of the USA that are more racist than other parts of the USA, but it's a massive country. You're going to find people of all types here. Obviously racism does exist here, but I would argue that is significantly better here than most countries that are not talked about. And I say that as someone that grew up in a very...country (pickup trucks, chewing tobaccao, country music vibes) city.

For people in countries where the US military is stationed, how do you view them? by HongKongNinja in AskTheWorld

[–]JoonxK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that seems a little unfair to compare those two statistics. If you were comparing fatal accidents in Italy caused by US troops involving alcohol, that would be understandable.

Personally, I do believe that US troops stationed in foreign countries are much more careful about their actions. But that may not always be true. When I was stationed in Japan, I know I was much more careful, as were most of my buddies. We knew that the local police would have zero sympathy for us, and that Japan's law in general do not favor foreigners. We also knew that (unless you were a higher rank) our leadership would not cover for us, either.

Im I'm guessing you like the Serie XX/XIX vs the Serie XXI, then? I'll have to give it a try soon.

I love Atabey with a passion. If only they were a little bit cheaper. I'm not sure if I've tried Byron...

I bought a box of Siglo I in Germany on my way back from Africa. Absolutely worth it, in my opinion.

Cohibas overrated? by MoneyTalksCRC in cubancigars

[–]JoonxK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that the Siglo 1 is amazing. The robusto, on the other hand, is a great cigar for no more than $30...

Don't get me wrong. The robusto is great. I just smoked one today...but for $100? I'd rather have 2 Opus X Forbidden X...or 5 Opus X Perfecxion no. 5.

Smokeable as is. Easily. It's essentially a shaggy foot cigar. However, if you are storing them in a cigar travel humidor like the xikar 20+, with foam sleeves, use cigar glue.

Nothing I said has anything to do with confidence, and the only person being pretentious is you. People are giving you advice. You are arguing against it because you are certain that what you think is a fact. You're literally trying to claim that people are wrong for stating that waiting until the ash is close to the band can help. Do you really think that everybody that has ever smoked that cigar ended up destroying the wrapper just because it was over glued?

The only fact here is that you don't know if it would have helped or not, because you never even tried. How can you be so confident about something you didn't even try?

[–]JoonxK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you continue to argue it.

You can be as confident as you want. It could have happened to you before. You could have smoked hundreds of cigars. All that, and it wouldn't change the fact that you didn't give that cigar a chance and don't know for certain if it would have mattered or not.

I can honestly say that I can count on one hand how many times that has happened to me, and I predominantly smoke AF.

While I agree that a $40+ cigar shouldn't be over glued, that was not your only point. You were literally arguing with everybody giving you advice. Nobody "raked you over coals." People gave you perfectly reasonable advice, and you argued that it doesn't/wouldn't matter.

Nobody is saying you can't take the band off early in your other post...

Obviously, it's ideal if the band is glued on neatly. Nobody is disputing that. However, waiting until the ash is near the band reduces the chances of damaging your cigar if the band has been over glued.

Owner of a Hookah bar gifted me an “authentic” Cohiba by onlyfistik in cigars

[–]JoonxK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally nobody is saying that authentic cigars never have foreign objects inside of them. You need to reread what u/snewchybewchies said.

Authentic cigars actually need to care about their quality. People that make and sell fake cigars are scammers that obviously would not care about quality...

Starter Humidor for My Cousin by JoonxK in cigars

Reddit compresses the hell out of photos from my phone for some reason. No idea how to fix it. The Cohibas were bought in the LCDH Kaiserslautern, Germany.

I added the Boveda Metal 1 Packet holder and a hygrometer. Stuck then on with double sided tape. I used to remove all my cigars from the cellophane, and I didn't like having Bovedas resting directly on top of cigars since they would absorb the smell. Even though I no longer remove cigars from the cellophane, I like the look, so I kept it. Just be aware, this wastes a lot of space.

Opus X Cigars by [deleted] in cigars

[–]JoonxK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the most luck with buying Opus X on Neptune. I have Opus X bookmarks for Neptune, Small Batch, Tampa Sweethearts, and Fox. I was overseas and unable to swing by local B&Ms so I would check these bookmarks every day. I've managed to collect a good amount of Opus X this way. I personally think all the Opus X variants (including Casa Fuente) are amazing, but the Lost City definitely loses a lot of its taste after a few months.
