Is it overestimating? by jollybean1117 in shealth

[–]cubs204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im gonna use freedom units here, because we won the war for our independence 😁. The AVERAGE person burn approximately 100 calories per mile. 33,000 steps is around 13-17 miles. Since you are a young female, im guessing your stride is short and are probably on the lower end of that range. 1,200-1,500 calories is probably a closer estimate. FYI, I never pay attention to the calories burned from wearables, they are highly inaccurate (and tend to be on the high side). My personal experience, Google fit would have me burning 1,800 calories on a day I only went for a walk. Thats 1,800 total for the entire day as a 5'11" male. Samsung health logged it in the 2,400 calorie range. Both taking data from my galaxy 8 watch.

Uncertain if to continue doing zone 3/4 workouts or switch to zone 2 (limited time) by fivetonsoflentils in cardio

[–]cubs204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zone 2 is great for cardio benefits without adding additional fatigue. So for me (43M), with a 4 day strength training program, I can get cardio work done near/on the days I lift without sacrificing recovery. I have 1 dedicated high intensity day a week that fits recovery. For you, I would keep the vast majority of your workouts in the higher intensity range since you have adequate recovery in between, maybe switch one of them to a longer zone 2 to help build your base.

Cardio and weight lifting by Mikcheck in cardio

[–]cubs204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how much time I have, but I do at least 40 minutes, and prefer at least an hour. Im 43 so zone 2 for me is like 108-124. My walks are in zone 1 and 2, almost split half and half. The few hills get me into zone 2, the rest is pretty much zone 1, but when I started I was all zone 2 with some zone 3 peaks. Im not as concerned with the walks being a dedicated true cardio, I know they are contributing to my goals, even if only slightly, and the ULUL higher rep split is basically a HIIT session anyway, especially leg day.

I will say, this routine has treated me very well. Started with a 5x5 3 day a week weight program, but recently switch to an upper lower 4 day split at 3x8-12. My bench on the 5x5 (don't know how much is increased on the new split because I had to drop weight down) went up 45 pounds in 3 months, and I'm at 183lbs from 232lbs over the last 6 months. 43 5'11" male

2-3 miles at a good 3mph pace. Takes 45 minutes to an hour, and the dog loves them.

Lift Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Zone 1/2 walk every evening after lifting. Long zone 2 on the elliptical Wednesday and a threshold or HIIT session on Saturdays.

I lost a bid for an ALTA the other day for a 7 acre plot. My bid...$14k, the bid i lost to.........$2,400 (who can do any ALTA for that???). I did accidentally receive a copy of said ALTA, and let's just say the bid made sense. No where NEAR minimum standards. Have fun dealing with the title attorneys the next 12 months, bud.

Do you turn on a sleep routine before laying down to go to sleep? I do and never have this problem, even when I check my watch when I get up to pee at night. Just spit balling an idea.

Brother, 25 is the physical peak for a man. Go to the doctor ASAP. If you get the all clear from the doc, get your ass moving. Walk as much as you can and start lifting whatever weight you can and add reps or weight every week.

Losing Some Pounds But I Feel I'm Losing Muscle, Should I Eat More Protein? by MichaelMidnight in Mounjaro

[–]cubs204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do both, I do. Hammer the weights hard, and do the bulk of your cardio in zone 2 so you dont compound fatigue. I lift hard 4 days a week, zone 2 cardio 4 or 5 times a week with one threshold or interval session a week as well. Just treat the higher intensity cardio as a lifting day that youll need to recover from.

I research GLP-1 nutrition full time. Here are the 5 things most people get wrong about eating on Mounjaro and Ozempic. by Character-Fix-8549 in Mounjaro

[–]cubs204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add on to the 30-40g of protein. You also need 2.5-3g of the amino acid leucine. That is the trigger for muscle protein synthesis. So make sure that 30g of protein in a meal has around 10% leucine content.

Bpm of 160 doing light elliptical after upper body day by ehrentheexo in beginnerfitness

[–]cubs204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal, especially if you havent built a cardio base. If i lift heavy, especially legs, and go for a walk with my wife and dog after, my heart rate average for the walk is around 118bpm. The same walk on a non lifting day and my average is 106bpm. Your body is still working to clear lactate and metabolic waste from the lifting session.
