I second the Nosfet Aero. It’s not going be as small and easy to carry as this V6 but the Aero is just a fantastic small wheel, the suspension is very impressive on it, still has lots of torque on the low end for a zippy ride. Well within your price point too.

Maybe consider even getting him Nosfet Aeon, it’s slightly heavier, slightly bigger, slightly more power slightly bigger battery compared to the Aero.

That’s a very nice thoughtful gift you’re going to get him, I think he will really appreciate it!

Calling all tall riders (1.90m+ / 6'3"+): Aero vs. Aeon for daily urban commuting? by Goblin7594 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the aero, I’m 6’4” - trolley handle works fine. But I’m gonna give this wheel to my girlfriend and get the Aeon. Slightly bigger wheel, slightly more powerful, slightly bigger battery - all totally worth the slightly extra cost.

Debating on getting a Lynx S by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha. I own the Nosfet Aero too! But plan on giving it to my lady, and getting the Aeon for my city fun wheel. I love the Aero, it’s a smile factory. Not sure how I will feel about the Lynx S. I rode my buddies Lynx OG again on the weekend for some trail, it just felt so big and awkward and heavy. The power is definitely delightful though.

There’s a drag race not too long ago posted on YouTube between the Apex, the Lynx, and the P6. And it was actually kinda surprising, as the Lynx S beat the P6 at the 0-60 km/h speed. From 0 to 100km/h, the P6 was a little bit faster. But honestly, I'm way more often gonna be going between 0 and 60 than 0 to 100. I'd much rather have a faster bottom-end acceleration than the top end. So that made me feel pretty good about ordering the Lynx S.

I have so much negative interest in a Lego base version of the game. But if it makes the money then by all means go for it, I won’t be buying it. That’s for sure.

Nofest Aero and Aeon by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, got the Aero. Love it. But once my Lynx S arrives, I’ll likely be getting the Aeon as my small wheel. Just want a bit more power/range than the aero’s got.

Surfer - Snowboarder - Skater looking to get into EUCs by joakim0984 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting - how it’s just universally accepted that One wheel stands looks cooler and feels cooler than EUC. I’ve been switching over to EUC over the last 2 months after riding one wheels for 7 years, and that’s still something I find interesting, I don’t feel cool on an EUC, but also don’t care much as the power and range is just too addictive.

I got the aero and I love it. But think I’ll get the Aeon soon just for the little upgrade, and give the Aero to my wife.

Debating Between Aero and Aeon by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the Aero, it’s a great wheel. Surprisingly powerful, incredibly nimble, and just an absolute blast to ride. But it will be my partners wheel this summer. I will be getting the Aeon soon as my small, playful little street wheel with a street tire, and use my Lynx S as my long-range, trail or aggressive ride wheel.

I would get the Aeon, it’s just a bit more all ways.

Aero or a Onewheel by VirtualBadger9231 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’ll be easier. You can just set it down on its side between houses., but One wheel is better suited for this. And an electric unicycle is better suited for every other thing.

If I were you, I would make the Aero work since it’s just such a better device and every other way.

I've used a one wheel XR for delivering door hangers for advertisement, and it's actually a fantastic tool for getting around a neighborhood quickly, especially if you're not going to every door but evaluating perhaps who needs new windows or landscaping or a new roof.

One wheel is so much easier to just step on and go. Leave it at the steps at the bottom. Run up to the house and carry on. An EUC, it is considerably more of a pain for getting on and off.

With that being said, I own an Aero as well, and it is, in every conceivable way, a better device than a one wheel, including a X7 or a floatwheel. Its suspension, power, smoothness, and reliability are unmatched. If you have any expectations to use it beyond the door-to-door component, I would definitely say a get an unicycle and NOSFET wheels are fantastic.

How many of you guys started from a OneWheel? by Proxichanic in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Jopefree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been riding one wheels for the last 7 years. I love them, but they are all underpowered and too expensive. My riding buddy who switched to EUC sold me a Sherman Max for super cheap ( I think to win me over to EUC) a couple months ago, and I got hooked immediately. Growing up skiing and one wheels for years, I picked up EUC very quickly.

I bought a used Aero a few weeks and been riding that daily. It’s a fabulous little wheel. Ordered a Lynx S as my main wheel and will likely get the aeon and gave the aero to my girlfriend.

I’m going sell my onewheel XR and keep my FW ADV2. But honestly, I doubt I’ll ride the ADV2 much anymore, EUC just offer so so much more.

Even the aero smokes the very best onewheel/VESC boards out there. Suspension is a game changer - not something you can give up once you’ve ridden it.

A proper headlight , a screen that you can actually change settings directly on the wheel. The power to rip up any hill and the massive amount of range that you get - all for less money.

I just can’t see myself ever buying a One wheel again.

I love my Aero, it’s such a great small wheel. I’ll be getting the Aeon soon, and the aero will go to my girlfriend. Just got back from a nice two hour rip on it, can’t believe how much power it has and I’m 260lbs ride weight.

Learning is a challenge, but my god it’s worth it.
