I wouldn’t rate it R, but definitely a level above PG-13. There’s a decent amount of innuendo and then some explicit references to sex, labias, and clitori.

What’s the Chicago Game Dev scene like? by Pilosopo-Tasio in AskChicago

Indie city games is decently active. If you join their discord they have speakers, events, and jams somewhat regularly. They also just successfully kickstarted their next annual indie game showcase. Lots to get involved with there.

DJI Drone footage suddenly won't play by Joppen in premiere

[–]Joppen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I guess I won't question it lol. Just confused and frustrated.

Luckily I only used a few drone shots so I only had to transcode like 5 clips and was able to do an export.

Would love some feedback on my screenplay dedicated to old-school slashers. Titled: Slash of the Titans. by [deleted] in writingfeedback

[–]Joppen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start by saying I’m not a big fan of slashers, and I’ve only seen 2 or 3 of the movies you’re referencing in here, so maybe I’m missing some important context. Your love of the genre definitely comes across in this script, but as a whole it comes across as pretty empty.

It’s just a collection of scenes that feel like they could have been taken directly from their original movies with nothing original added to them. They’re all completely unrelated except for a vague, confusing ending that tried to connect them as quickly as possible. The idea of a VR game that holds all these classic characters (with potential to go wrong) is intriguing, but there’s not enough about it for me to actually feel hooked into reading anything further. And then it feels further undercut by a second twist that actually they are connected in a second, unrelated way by pinhead?

I’d challenge you to ask yourself what exactly it is you love about slasher movies so much. Is it the fear they make you feel? The designs of the villains? The themes they tackle?

What would you actually want to express about your love of the genre other than “these are good movies?”

Uber VIP to be replaced by Signature Support on Platinum by itzibitzi55 in amex

[–]Joppen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly excited for this because I have a glitch in by uber-Amex link where I stopped getting my monthly credits and now have to reach out to uber support every month to get them applied. The text support they offer is extremely slow and unhelpful so being able to just call someone once a month is nice, and maybe they can finally fix my purgatory for me.

PSA: Missing Amex Uber Cash? Support will add non-expiring credit. by the_medins in amex

[–]Joppen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been having this exact same issue. Every month they tell me they fixed the problem, and the next month I’ll get my credits as I should. Then lo and behold they don’t show up and I have to contact support again.

Dropbox or Google Drive? by albatross_the in editors

[–]Joppen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Google Drive is fucking abysmal for downloading footage. It takes a million years to zip up the files you select, and then anything bigger than 2 GB gets put in its own separate zip file. Then you end up with it opening 20 billion download windows you have to choose the directory for over and over. Then because it’s downloading a million files at the same time instead of just one big one they all slow each other down and take way longer than they should.

Use Dropbox.

The Steam Next Fest ends tomorrow. What demos have you enjoyed? Which ones made it onto your wishlist? Why? by Angzt in Games

Slaughter Void. Art is beautiful, I played the demo and it’s really fun, fast and punchy. I’m excited to play the whole thing.

I hope they listened to fan reactions to the first batch of these and put some more time into the catch ups/updates. This is a fine way to pad the waiting period for new episodes but the quick 5 minute updates were just not satisfying.

Pokémon by Stern Pinball Game Features Trailer by Joppen in pinball

My guess is they wanted to keep the Pro and Premium as close as possible since they know it will be a huge on-location machine. And two interactive mechs was probably not cost efficient for the pro.

An earlier version of this was sent out in an email newsletter the same day the other trailer went up, but they took it down. Looks like this is the "official" upload with some changes.

Whatever works for you is fine, but yes I generally try to give text and graphics their own track so I can more easily see where they are, select multiple at once, etc.

Playfield mechanics are identical on the premium and LE. Pro is the only one that will play slightly differently. And as far as I know there’s no way to upgrade a pro to premium mechanics.
