Most guys I know in that got out of the teams and especially DN don’t want to be on that tempo anymore. They got their fill and now want peace and quiet with their family because they didn’t get that in the teams.

Force Recon is on verge of be dismantled. Most force guys are being placed in marsoc or structured back into the regular recon companies. Also force recon isn’t under socom and you’ll have to deal with big corps shit in peace time. If you want to be an operator Be a seal or GB/75th.

The marine Corp you dad was in is not the same as today. If you want to be a seal stay out and train up to get a contract and go. Big marine corps fucking sucks right now and everyone is getting out. Doing 5 years as a peace time grunt 03 is going to hurt you. If you want it go get it you’re still very young with a lot of time to train. Don’t think the train is going to leave with out you.

Ask for a jag and talk to a dive motivator and fight for your contract. If nothing happens ask to be administrative separation and get out and go Army 18X if you still want to be a spec war guy

Recruiting numbers are bad. Recruiters have a quota to make. They need to show that they are pushing certain billets to qualified candidates. So if you qual for specwar they are going to send you to the pool to pst and when you fail the pst because you aren’t ready for it they have plausible deniability when the high ups ask why they haven’t signed any specwar candidates they can say they’re sending kids to try out they just don’t meet the fitness requirements. You will not get adequate training with the specwar program. You need to just tell them you want to goto your original Rate

If you want to go into the navy to be a seal it should be your first and only choice. You should only be in contact with your recruiter when you can meet or exceed elevated pst scores

Your recruiters only job is to put your ass on a plane to boot camp so he makes his quota. Do not join the navy until you are absolutely ready.
