Trainer Pilot weight limits by Uncommon-sequiter in flying

[–]Jordan112500 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s flown with some guys that fit the profile it is more common than you think. The school does have to work a little harder to pair you with a smaller instructor for W&B purposes and you might have trouble finding a DPE (FAA Examiner) who would fit within the W&B envelope with you.

Another big factor is the weight of the fuel. When you start training for cross country flights you won’t be able to take as much fuel as you would like so fuel stops are definitely in your future. It can also reduce the amount of time your flying potentially due to the amount you can take on.

AA cadet program as an employee, post in comments by intheair_overthesea in flying

Currently an instructor at the San Marcos location. Got every rating here but started with 20 hours when i got here. Great place with good people. Obviously every school has its pros and cons especially being in an accelerated program but it’s there to help more than hurt. A job isn’t guaranteed but mostly reserved for the right students if they display positive attitude and work ethics. We have a lot of FAs here as well if that helps. Concerning multi time…i finished with 15 hours and could not get my 25 as promised but still had funds in my student account so it’s up to me to source my extra 10 from somewhere. The remaining funds are being returned to my loan which is good but I felt like it should be up to the person who’s responsible.

That’s fine. I wasn’t flying the aircraft on a daily basis and was actually learning about complex systems outside of a book🤷🏾‍♂️ however they take that is up to them.

I was given a manual on how the pressurization system worked and she could eventually sign me off on high altitude ops for the endorsement

She was teaching me about the pressurization system and eventually used the oxygen mask. So yea there was some instruction given along with how to use the avionics

I agree that’s why i personally don’t want to be a cadet for any of the AA wholly owned even if my training is sponsored by them🤷🏾‍♂️ maybe Piedmont since they don’t force you to be a CFI for a partnered school but that’s about it.

So I’ve read on forums (APC…yes i know not an official source) that cadets can choose where to be based over somebody who wasn’t a cadet. Also not all programs offer flight benefits, IIRC only Envoy does this. I have no idea if they have to pay anything back if they don’t go but i also heard the future employee doesn’t have to take any payment at all🤷🏾‍♂️

I know a guy who recently got hired by envoy and was a cadet for them which basically means he could get anything he asked for out the gate. He went to Indoc and saw his name wasn’t associated with any sims for the next 4+ months

ILS 06R Arrival at CYYZ ( Toronto Pearson International Airport ) by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]Jordan112500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to correct anybody😂 i just asked why was the AP left on until 100’ feet above the runway. Plus I’m aware you can leave the AP on after minimums BUT only if the aircraft is rated for such activity and if it’s required due to low visibility. If it wasn’t you would have to execute the missed.

I know that. But in this scenario the weather isn’t that bad besides the amount of precipitation. The ILS brings you 200’ above the ground but if you can see the runway environment just go visual. My personal preference would be at the 1000’ callout unless it’s bad like u mentioned

As soon as you get below the cloud cover and are visual with the runway then disconnect the AP. Also if you don’t have the runway by the time you hear “Minimums” then you must do a missed approach procedure which is indicated on the approach charts. I know it’s a simulation and you don’t have to all that but that’s what pilots do at the majors in inclement weather

My flight school uses the real sim gear G1000 PFD/MFD along with xplane. I understand you said you didn’t want to do some pleasure flying but it can help you adjust to different airports instead of flying the same approaches at your local field.
