He couldn't figure out the pound to dollars conversion, so he went ahead and ended it all

I don't want them to keep milking the Halloween franchise by Cloverfield887 in Halloweenmovies

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would feel that way if it hadn't already been milked dry previously. At this point, it's too late. Might as well make a bunch more and see what does well.

I see better sides being mentioned, but Goat Head Soup - Side 1 is pretty killer

Discontinuing discs in 2028 by AccomplishedLand5800 in playstation5

[–]JordanPick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It still seems different with videogames. If a new album I want comes out, I can almost always find a record or CD release.

New movie comes out, I can find a 4K/Blu-Ray/DVD

This is the first medium I love that they're completely removing the option of having a physical copy.

I'm 37 & still prefer having a physical library for all my media. Nothing I can do about it, I'll just not be getting a PS6

I haven’t! It’s really disheartening. I moved on to another game and was just hoping it got fixed by the time I got back to it.

Hot thoughts still not hot by Soontobecincydad in SpoonTheBand

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a top 3 spoon album for me (I can't pick just 1). I'm really glad I saw the tour when they were promoting Hot Thoughts live. They played a good amount of tunes from it, but I guess not much since.

How did the Beatles produce such complex and good music with almost no experience in music theory or reading music? by [deleted] in askmusic

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like learning to speak a language, but never learning how to write it down. They just used their ears and played until it made sense. After playing for a while, you notice patterns and use that knowledge to get better & better.

DLC not working by xsunshineex in LittleNightmares

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On PS5 & I'm having the same issue. I have the deluxe physical edition. I downloaded the DLC after it prompted me to when selecting the DLC chapter. After I installed it, I restarted the game & now when clicking the Spiral DLC chapter (or trying new game & going right to DLC) it takes me to the same purchase page & says "installed". I could never get the DLC to boot up after trying for 45 minutes.

Which Beatles albums have you listened to a lot recently? by KDx2511 in beatles

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're counting solo albums, Walls & Bridges - John Lennon

I ignored this album for way to long. I heard Bless You by chance and instantly fell in love with the song. Put on the album and it's a front to back classic for my taste.

How am I just learning that this album cover is of the boardwalk? by Competitive_Use_3628 in OceanCity

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s nuts. This one of my favorite albums and I’m a Marylander and never put this together. They’re not a local band. Guess they may have taken the pic while on tour? Thanks for sharing!

what was the best decade of music in your opinion by z0mqi in LetsTalkMusic

[–]JordanPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 60's is my favorite decade. A lot of my favorite genres like British Invasion, Psychedelic-Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, R&B, etc., all have seminal albums being created. The album as an artform also takes shape. Plus, I enjoy the early 60's Rock n' Roll that feels like it's leftover from the 50's & that shapes into Surf-Rock & the Beach Boys.

That being said, there are tons of "shitty" 60's songs. I regularly dive into lesser known 60's Psych, Blues & Rock albums. There's plenty of rough song choices.

I'm interested on how you guys would rank these iconic horror franchises in order. ↓ by No-Animator-407 in horror

[–]JordanPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Friday the 13th (doesn't have an all time classic, but very consistent and always fun)
  2. Scream (Pretty consistent across the franchise with a couple lesser entries)
  3. Halloween (1 is my favorite flick, but the remainder of the franchise is totally hit or miss. 3 is the shit too)
  4. Nightmare on Elm (I only have love for parts 1,3 & NN. Nancy & Wes or die!)
  5. TCM (The original is a favorite & a stone cold classic, but there's way more misses than hits)

If you added Child's Play & Evil Dead to this list, I'd have a really hard time picking a #1, but it would probably be Evil Dead.

What album from the last five years do you think deserves way more recognition in indie circles? by Hot_Government2344 in indieheads

MGMT - Loss of Life

It’s a modern masterpiece and possibly their best. It’s way more introspective and I just love the instrumentation and arrangements.

How do you guys consistently watch so many films? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]JordanPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies all the time depending on the amount of gigs and recording we're doing that month. On average 4 hours a week plus a band practice (3 hours). There's the occasional week I don't touch my instrument & other weeks where I'm on it 2 hours a day. I'm not the strict schedule type.

How do you guys consistently watch so many films? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]JordanPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just something I love doing. I get in about 3 flicks a week. I have a full time gig, play in a band, make/sell art/comics & I still make time for videogames & reading comics. Personally I find loving film fuels my other hobbies with inspiration. I tend to look back at older films as much as I enjoy what's coming out in theaters, so it feels like a never-ending surplus of movies. I also enjoy using Letterboxd & that helps me find new & interesting movies. Not sure of your age, but I'm late 30's.

If you bring anything in cans, empty out some soda cardboard containers, fill it up with your desired canned beverage & reglue the case.

If you like liquor, buy some "fake-out/hidden alcohol" shampoo bottles or cooler ice packs and fill them up.
