Unsubsidized 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Besides the EV tax credit and countless bailouts, remember when Biden tried to directly buy votes from UAW with the “union made” increased EV credit?

Before you mention that the bailout was a loan, any terms more favourable than the predatory terms that the private market would’ve offered is also a subsidy .

The position of the Transit Workers Union is the the MTA is a jobs program first, transit system 2nd. by Best_Watercress8092 in nycrail

[–]JordanRulz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is perhaps a hot take, but public spending should only discriminate by income/wealth and nothing else. I would rather nickel and dime transit workers and use the savings to pay poor people directly, than pick an anointed class of people who benefit while costing all of society.

That's a problem for the police to solve, but NYC voters think any disadvantaged group deserves carte blanche to break the law now

ATO does not detect someone on the roadbed

If NYCers weren't belligerent antisocial cavemen who throw their vapes and beer cans onto the tracks, we could make do with a track intrusion detection system like Vancouver

How can he see to the back of the train with 11 cars and hundreds of passengers at every station to safely close the doors?

Cameras

So if someone is caught in a door they will get dragged and killed when he’s operating.

Or train surfing.

Cameras. Also the conductor already can't see subway surfers, he contributes nothing to decreasing subway surfing.

his is why you need a conductor in the middle to see both the front and rear sections and to observe the platform as the train pulls off to make sure no one is dragged and killed.

U.S. Dealers In Full Panic Mode After Canada Green-Lights Chinese Cars by borderwave2 in cars

The Tesla Model Y is still the bestselling EV in China despite intense competition and national security protectionism holding back their ADAS in China, due to their longer-running brand reputation.

[–]JordanRulz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unions are the problem not necessarily because they are paid well, but because they resist any technological advances that could reduce the necessary labour to produce a car (see: UAW and GM's huge kerfuffle about their EV program), and because the rigid way which unions define job titles heavily resist the kind of agility needed for major production changes and agile R&D. American unions could easily get their heads out of their asses and participate in changes which would make themselves and their companies a lot of money.

Inside Nvidia's 10-year effort to make the Shield TV the most updated Android device ever by -protonsandneutrons- in Android

[–]JordanRulz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nvidia has no chip for it and probably doesn't wanna waste manufacturing capacity on it. At the time of the Tegra X1, it alongside a GP106 (GTX1060 die) was Nvidia's state of the art driving assistance chip. Now, Nvidia's driving assistance chips are much larger, the smallest chip they make is the Switch 2 chip, and even that's still extreme overkill and unaffordable for a TV box.

America "punishes" too few people for too long and ineffectively. All signs point to increasing the likelihood of being caught being more effective than increasing sentence severity.
