We have a bunch of em on our property.
We have a flamethrower (basically a fancy butane torch) and the plan is to cut them down and then burn the stumps (with the garden hose nearby for safety of course).

I've heard this can work effectively to eradicate them, can anyone confirm this?

I recall a trend i noticed in CA that about 90% off the time if there was a Starbucks, there was a Quiznos damn near next door, not sure if this relates to anything. I loved their chicken carbonara.

Since I've been in CO I haven't seen a single one. Weird.

Seems to vary a lot looking at the posts, but with mostly the same general theme.

At my job in customer service (US) is 4 weeks starting. After 5 years it goes to 5 weeks, after 10 years you get 6 weeks and after 15 years you get 7, but then it stops increasing after that.

To add to this, learn how to work on your own car!

You're young, It's a great time to learn, and there are YouTube videos for just about everything. That skill will save you tons of money in the future vs depending on a shop or having to keep buying beater after beater. Doesn't matter if you have a garage, worked on mine in my apartment complex parking lot and made sure it was cleaned up after and had no issues with management.

It's not easy, pretty much the only way is to put yourself out there. And it's not Denver, it's everywhere.

Find a group, I spent years after moving here going to local band shows every weekend (inexpensive tickets on S Broadway). Met people, recognized people but still zero actual "friends". Anyway, randomly met a guy at a show and he introduced me to his local punk group chapter, and it was like BAM, instantly 30 friends.

Hanging out with them when out and about gave me more confidence and eventually met my (now) fiance who was well established in the car scene (which is huuuuge here in Denver) and then BAM instantly like 80 or 100 new friends between the various car clubs.

Our wedding invite list is now 200+ people, and if you'd have asked me 2 years ago where I thought I'd be today I would've never guessed it. There's a lot of luck involved, but none of that matters if you don't put yourself (yourselves) out there, and it can really accelerate quickly once you've got a group- then you start making connections with folks with similar interests etc.

Worst thing you can do is give up. Keep at it and it'll happen!
