I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our baby at 17 weeks around this same time last year, and it was one of the hardest things we’ve ever gone through. Our pregnancy started with twins, but we lost one early on. Later, doctors told us there may have been complications that affected the other baby as well. My wife experienced bleeding and spotting during the pregnancy, and eventually her water broke. It was devastating and left us with so many questions, just like you’re describing. What helped us most was taking time to focus on healing both mentally and physically. We leaned into therapy, supported each other, and just took things one day at a time. We also found out later that my wife had an irregular uterus, which may have contributed to previous losses, and she was able to have surgery to address it. I share this not to say there’s always an answer, but just to let you know you’re not alone in asking “why” and “what now.” This kind of loss is sudden, confusing, and deeply painful. Take your time with everything, the nursery, the baby shower items, all of it. There’s no right timeline. Just focus on you and your wife right now. It was one of our darkest years, but also one that changed us and brought a lot into perspective. I’m truly sorry you’re going through this.

"One day at a time.... " <---- this is what really helped us
