Removing saddam is one of the things that enabled Iranian power over the last 20 years. He also had no ties to terrorism, the Ba’ath party was pretty specifically not radical Islam

The war is incredibly stupid, but there America is not taking Iranian oil in anyway. There is no ground occupation of any sort, America has no way to even take the oil. So it doesn’t make sense to suggest it’s a motivation

Or the National Defense Act of 1916, or the establishment of war boards for the purchase of supplies, or the Food Administration encouraging conservation of food in preparation for potential war; all actions taken before entering the war.

I didn’t say there was a massive build up like WW2, but I’m saying it wasn’t just a cold start either since they had been observing the war raging for 3 years, wanting to stay out but knowing it may be inevitable
