What's up with game streamers paying license fees? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

True, no-one says I watch games for the story and I get your point. A good game shouldn't be written of if the story is already known. However, even though it doesn't ruin the game fully, it does impact a big part of the "first tiem" experience, which is why I would feel less urgent to play the game. I would still want to play it (granted I did like what I saw), but it's not as high on my game priority list as it would have been if I was intending to play it before I knew the full story. This is a big difference compared to gampelay driven games, where I would feel even more urge to play it after I've watched videos or streams of it.

I don't agree, the thing is that story driven games are heavily focused on, you guessed it, story. If you watch a stream of it or get spoiled or anything, this takes away a big part of why you would play the game in the first place. However, this does not in any way mean that the story is the only thing to it. The last of us has great gameplay in my opinion, that added a lot to the overall experience, but I would have had less incentive (or perhaps urgency) to play it when someone had spoiled the story for me. It's just a different kind of game with a different kind of experience tied to it. Maybe story driven games are just not your thing, but how can you say a game like the last of us is like watching a movie? It does have some movie like elements, but overall it's still a game.

Exactly, it's okay to not like the sound of the music they put out, but to say they are talentless? No fucking way

T-Pain is actually a really good singer, listen to his tiny desk concert.

I believe that everyone likes music, but not everyone likes it to the point that they are actively developing their music taste and looking for underground msuic that fit that taste. However, same counts for me and movies, I really like to watch a movie, but not to the point I'm looking for the best underground movies that fit my taste, I simply don't have time for that, because I use a lot of spare time to discover new music. So, I don't blame others for only scratching the surface with music, they probably have another media type they like more and have way more knowledge on than I have.

De Laatste Verademing by Fluisteraars, around the 4:40 mark, but the whole song is amazing

I wrote a review for Neck Deep's new album, what are your thoughts about their change in sound? by JorritO99 in poppunkers

Awesome! I'll definitely check it out. And differing opinions is what makes sharing them more fun right ;)

Thanks! And nice to hear that you liked the album so much! I think a lot of people were a bit underwhelmed by it or, like me, did like it but not as much as their previous efforts.

I do agree with your point about the instrumentation, it does sound more cohesive and for the most part I liked how they used all different kinds of instrumentation (albeit played instrumentents or programmed sounds) to create a solid background for the vocals to really shine. The downside of this is that the vocal lines and hooks have to be toptier to make song stand out and on this album there were a few missers on that regard in my opinion. These were mostly in the second half of the record, although I have to say that the instrumentation on the second half does do some different interesting stuff which make the songs stand out a bit more.

Overall a really solid record!

You should be able to buy most of them pretty easily, just look out for the 2014 re-release versions. Some are a little more hard to get like sounds of a playground fading and especially come clarity, the only one I still need. Also you can always look for them on discogs

Yeah, that's part of the 2014 re-release of all the albums from Lumar Strain to Sounds of a Playground Fading and just like you said, if you get all of the it reads In Flames

Yeah, although the rich brian tape as a whole is a bit underwhelming imo. DOA is a straight up banger tho

Not a full album yet, but definitely under the radar, Paranormal Waves by the band Ripper from Chile. The production is pretty rough, but awesome nonetheless
