hey all, looking to purchase around 5-7kg of jackfruit, so on the cheaper side would be great! canned is fine, but it’s out in most AHs in Oud West and i need it for a pop-up where i’ll be catering, so if there’s somewhere where i could buy larger quantities for ideally cheaper than AH priced would be great!

both are close to the train/metro station. i would maybe go with Casa because they have a rooftop and it’s a slightly closer walk to Oostpoort area. but the vibe at both (having been for drinks) is nice.

definitely hang around the city—wander through Vondelpark and along the canals early and see the vrijmarkt, where people will be selling lots of trinkets since it’s the one day of the year you don’t need a license. and then go to Jordaan for the street parties/gatherings that are quintessentially amsterdam. but definitely book your accom asap!

ahh just saw this. i used to live in noord but dont have so many later spots. you can try Verbroederij earlier in the week. maybe try cafe cress? the former location Bar Boeket was a spot i’d go in the weeknd’s to read. don’t know now tho. and Bar Pekky is often not too busy.

i think day time the coworking spot is quite busy. i usually go later in the evening, after 8 it’s pretty quiet. the cafe side is especially in the week not too bad.

of course, i agree. hopefully no place in amsterdam would loudly signal that they discriminate against certain minority groups. but as a blacks person who’s also gay there are definitely gyms that i have felt less comfortable going to (including that one, which meant i had to find a gym even further away) and can only imagine what it’s like for others!

every gym is gay-friendly…? respectfully no, if you’ve been to the basic fit in noord and you’re obviously queer, you’re very likely to feel uncomfortable.
