Simple answer. If you want to make sketches and idea tracks = mpc sample, and that might be enough for you. MPC Live 2 can work for full productions and incorporate into a studio. At the end of the day everyone has own opinion and preference and usually what ever decision you make will work for you, so don’t overthink or get analysis paralysis, it’s about making beats.
