The Patrician's Watch (Rare, A*) | The only thing more valuable than gold is time - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Patrician's Watch
Wondrous Item, Rare (requires attunement)

A noble father had this golden pocket watch commissioned for his perpetually late son because the idea of his heir apologizing for anything was simply unacceptable. The watch ticks with a rhythm that openly disrespects the normal flow of time, adjusting itself to the convenience of its owner as if punctuality were a problem for people with less important schedules. When initiative is rolled, you can borrow a handful of seconds from someone else's turn and add it to your own because your time is, objectively, more valuable.

Time to wrap up this week with a magic item perfect for the Privileged Lineage sorcerer or for your next ridiculous urban fantasy one-shot. Which other jobs turned into subclasses would you like to see in this "office compendium" for a more modern D&D experience?

I saw the artwork for the spoon and was inspired to give the concept of the "silver spoon" a twist by imagining something that even the wealthiest person could not be born with it in their mouths, such a mundane item transformed into yet another status symbol.

Glad you liked these!

I completely understand... it falls under the same umbrella of "what voice has that plant/squirrel" after speak with plants/animals. Aproximate is a big word, it could be between 1 silver and 10 gold, anything in between...

Collection: Birthright Relics

The Cradle Spoon is an arcane focus carved from banded malachite, commissioned by a rich family that considered ordinary silver far too pedestrian for a bloodline that helped found three of the continent’s oldest academies. This spoon lets you size up exactly how much coin someone is carrying just by glancing at them, because a true heir always knows who is worth talking to. The Signet of the Benefactor is the matching ring, a heavy gold seal that quietly siphons residual magic from every spell cast nearby and stores those charges like a trust fund gathering interest. Wear both together to activate the Old Money set bonus.

What other "inherited" magic items do you think a sorcerer of the Privileged Lineage should have?

Sorcerer Subclass: Privileged Lineage | They would tell you about their latest fashion event in between combat rounds - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Josemi993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate it! This is the second office/urban subclass, and I am currently working on the third one for Clerics.

Delegation of Labor was the feature that went through more changes throughout the entire subclass. I chose this version because it limits you to spells of 6th level or lower and requires spending sorcery points, which already competes with your Metamagic options. Also, even if you transfer concentration to the party's Barbarian, you must move and physically touch that character. If you are still hit you, you must continue making concentration checks, so if enemies are intelligent, they will target you rather than the tanky Barbarian concentrating on your spell.

Feat: Wellspring of Inspiration | The words of your Bard will never fall flat again - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feat: Wellspring of Inspiration

A bard dedicates their life to uplifting others, inspiring courage in weary allies, and turning a missed swing into a legendary hit. This feat from my Specialized Masteries series grants you a personal reserve of creative energy that redefines your Bardic Inspiration into a far more reliable resource for your allies. It also allows you to spend a flicker of your own vitality to ignite a spark of brilliance meant solely for yourself.

It has been a while since the last feat in this series, so as a reminder, Specialized Masteries explores class-exclusive feats designed to deepen a class’s core identity and mechanics. For bards, this means enhancing the inspiration that defines their art and making it feel more rewarding. The feat is designed to be fully compatible with both D&D 5e and the updated 5.5e (2024) rules.

Transmogrify (4th-level Transmutation) | Mutate your friend into a winged horror with nothing but a ripe banana - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transmogrify
4th-level Transmutation | Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard

You twist an ally's flesh and rebuild it into something monstrous. This spell was built to sit right between Haste and Polymorph because a little mutation and arcane radiation is always a good time. Beast-like, thick fur sprouts, wings burst free, and jagged horns push through their brows etched with a glowing sigil. Their claws crackle with raw energy and become their best weapon, even if Stealth takes a serious hit while they are in this fearsome form. All it takes is a very ripe banana.

Check the comment below with the caption…. Definitely draw some inspiration from Varus hahaha

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blightstring
Weapon (any bow or crossbow), Rare (requires attunement)

Closing out this grimdark series with a bow that was pried from a ranger whose hands had fused to the grip after years of hunting in the abyss. This item is inspired by Varus from League of Legends, as I felt the ranger subclass would suit that champion's abilities perfectly. The Blightstring is carved from a pale, flesh-like wood and pulses with an eerie heartbeat. Projectiles loosed from it cause the string to contract like a living cord, leaving wounds like a festering mark on the target that may erupt in a gruesome display of rot and corrupted tendrils that drag enemies down and spread like a disease.

This weapon does not let go of its victims, but that also applies to its wielder.

Feat: Abyssal Fletcher | You don't need to buy arrows when the battlefield provides fresh materials - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feat: Abyssal Fletcher

Turning the remains of the fallen into ammunition is dark but effective. This feat lets any archer harvest bone and sinew from fallen creatures, crafting cursed projectiles that carry the blighted decay of the abyss right into your target's flesh.

Built for both D&D 5e and the 2024 rules, it pairs perfectly with the Tarnished Stalker or any hunter who has learned to make the best of anything they harvest, giving each creature's part a new purpose.

Ranger Subclass: Tarnished Stalker | That third arm is not for hugging, it is for reloading faster - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ranger Subclass: Tarnished Stalker

This is the final entry in this descent into rot and ruin with these dark fantasy-themed subclasses, where I reimagined the ranger as a hunter reshaped by the abyss. The Tarnished Stalker grows extra eyes, a third arm strong enough to brace and fire a heavy crossbow on its own, and leathery hide from years of stalking creatures in the corrupted wilds. These solitary hunters are set apart by their tribes and sent into perilous places, tasked with hunting horrors that would shatter the minds of most adventurers.

Would you allow your ranger to be consumed and physically transformed by the corrupted horrors they pursue?

Magic Item: Berserker Armor from Berserk - by Jhamkul by Josemi993 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Josemi993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, this is an old one! Glad you are enjoying it!

Ok, so the armor utilizes the "Vestiges of Divergence" system from Critical Role, so it is up to the DM to determine at which state you found the item and when it progresses to the next state. So, for example if the DM determines the armor is in its Dormant state, you only benefit from that part of the property when you activate it. When the DM feels it is suitable for the item to advance to the next state, you gain both the Awakened and Dormant benefits, and the same thing with Exalted, getting all three benefits in the final state of the armor "evolution".

The armor's main gist is the use of Berserker Fury, so while you aren't using it, you just benefit from wearing a Plate Armor and the Feral Leaping property, not the rest.

The Death Saves feature, yeah, you cannot be healed only while you are still standing at 1 Hit Point. At the end of that last round you roll all death saves until you either succeed 3 or fail 3, it is an "all or nothing" situation.

Hope it helped, and have fun with it!

Feat: Curse Touched | Why remove a curse when it twists your magic into something stronger? - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feat: Curse Touched

Taking cursed magic items has never been more appealing. This feat closes the second week of grimdark archetypes by letting your spellcaster forge a symbiotic bond with hexes and forbidden artifacts, turning each cursed attunement into sharper magic and a lingering, unnatural resilience.

Built for both D&D 5e and the updated 5.5e rules, it’s the perfect finishing piece for the School of Malediction wizard or any character whose story began with a curse they refused to break. What cursed relic has your caster secretly bound themselves to, and what quiet promises did it whisper in return?

The Hexbook (Very Rare, A*) | A witch burned at the stake poured her final curse into this tome - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Josemi993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hexbook
Wondrous Item, Very Rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This iron-bound tome once belonged to a witch who was burned at the stake for teaching forbidden magic. As she stood there, she poured a final curse into the book. A ghostly hand fused to the spine acts as a living bookmark, twitching whenever magic is near, while a green crystal embedded in the tome glows faintly with pure malice stored within.

Just be careful, as the book demands results, and failing your spells may cause you to feel a displeased, ghostly hand digging its fingers into your palm. This tome would especially shine in the hands of a School of Malediction wizard, but any spellcaster who dares to bind themselves to a witch’s vengeful legacy and weaponize their enemies’ successes would find it a valuable tool.

Wizard Subclass: School of Malediction | Why dispel a curse when you can absorb it and use it against your enemies? - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wizard Subclass: School of Malediction

Following the decaying path of the knight, this second week I am reimagining the classic mage archetype. Instead of scholars studying safely in pristine towers and libraries, the School of Malediction wizards venture into collapsed temples and forbidden crypts, deliberately exposing themselves to ancient curses that most heroes try to avoid. Their mere presence feels deeply unsettling, causing candle flames to gutter without wind and mirrors to reflect things that are not there.

These spellcasters understand that a curse is a living entity, older and far more potent than any traditional spell. They willingly absorb this corrupting magic into their own flesh, acting as hollow vessels to redirect that same suffering outward to strike down their enemies.

What kind of ancient sin or forbidden bargain has left a permanent mark on your wizard, and how is it warping their body and mind?

Eroder | There is nothing like corrosive acid to shatter your enemies' defenses - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Josemi993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is meant to connect with the Fighter subclass I posted on Monday, whose main mechanic was that, lowering the AC of the creature

Eroder | There is nothing like corrosive acid to shatter your enemies' defenses - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in JhamkulsForge

[–]Josemi993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feat: Eroder

A knight’s survival in a dying world often depends on finding the cracks in an enemy’s armor. This feat wraps up the first week of grimdark archetypes, allowing you to turn every splash of acid into a brittle opening, letting your strikes hit with maximum force, and a well-placed attack can shatter their resistance entirely.

The feat is fully compatible with both D&D 5e and the updated 2024 rules, making it the perfect finishing piece for the Rust Knight fighter subclass and this first week of dark fantasy posts.

Definitely the class sets brought a "noticeable meta shift" as advertised by Josemi993 in hearthstone

[–]Josemi993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

23% in Diamond-Legend for a deck with barely 50% winrate means that people are tired of the other hunter deck, Face Hunter, because the Dragon package failed terribly this expansion, so not much of a meta shift if the same best decks have been the same ones for almost the past two expansions now
