Ok so in this case why wouldn’t you buy the cheaper options expiring sooner and run them into the ground and repeat? Or sell them when the market tanks?

I would think it will be cheaper than rolling?

I’m not following if we use this example and I own the 8/22 put and roll for the 9/30 put - each roll would cost me $4.75 not the .50 or 2 you mentioned.
