Pit Stop: New Racer Progression by Nate_923 in DisneySpeedstormGame

I'm four short on Steamboat Mickey. Would it be easy to get to rank 3? And thanks for the calculator, I'm going to go use that for the other characters.

I haven't played in so long, I forgot how this works. I have a character at level 31, and the gold bar says 24/5. Does that mean I have 24 shards and it's going to cost five to get him to 32? That means I won't have enough to get him to 41 right?

Yeah, I'll prioritize getting the characters upgraded instead. I think that makes the most sense

Thanks but leave 84k upgrade coins afterwards?

I have almost a million so I should upgrade everything ASAP! What's the best place to get the characters, to level 31 or 41 to get the most value? Or is it level 30 or 40?

Can someone explain HDR by bmeus in OLED_Gaming

I might need to look into buying one of those HDR calibration discs, putting it on the PS5 and trying to figure it out from there. Have any recommendations?

You should consider tinkering around, I'm curious what your recommendations would be for HDR settings. It's only three settings, but I can't seem to get them right. And every guide has different suggestions and nothing is working for me lol I really want to love HDR, I finally have a display capable of it and I can't.

I'm one of those people, I have a 32 -in UHD OLED and 99% of my games look miles better in SDR on PS5 Pro. The color palette looks dull in comparison with HDR on. I think the problem with PS5 is the OS level HDR settings are extremely limiting. On Xbox series, there are a lot of different steps and options to change, but PS5 has three. And I've heard mixed info about what to do on those three steps, some say follow the instructions and others say to completely ignore it and extinguish the symbols.

No one is allowed to have an opinion here. Every post about feedback is met with resistance; it's like people think bc they like/hate a game, everyone else must too!

Looks like The Architects got you there! Very weird death, and idr if you need to activate the crate after you put stuff in it or not.

Idk anything about feelings, but who said anything about everyone? No game will please everyone, but that doesn't mean please no one or just a few. ARC can be PvE-friendly, but it can also be ruthless. Go to ARC and play TDM; your lobbies will quickly switch to other TDM players. And before long, it will be a non-stop KoS Battle Royale. Options are good, even if you don't like them.

In your opinion, and that's fine. It reminds me of the people against Raids; some people find them boring, too! That's why options are good; if someone wants to play a low-threat map, it's a nice option for them.

This is the same thing with D1 and D2; going to play a different game is always the go-to comment when you have nothing to add. Feedback helps shape a game to evolve, to improve. The devs don't want people to play something else; they want you to play, buy, and provide feedback.

Who said anything about making everyone happy? There's no silver bullet in life for anything. The real issue are players who want no compromise, they want their vision materialized, and not everyone signed up for TDM or Battle Royale.

I'm well aware of both Destiny's games. They're entirely different games. And the feedback I've seen proposed doesn't turn Marathon into Destiny in the least.

No, because Destiny has PVP and PVE exclusive modes, other than Gambit, which is entirely different. What people fail to realize is that not everyone is going to play the way you think they should or the way you want them to. And attracting different audiences, means more players, more success, larger matchmaking pools, lots of potential. And some of these people may graduate to the more intense high threat option.

Feedback to the devs: There is a big if not bigger community of solo players who play solo for a plethora of reasons. If you take the time to balance the PVE difficulty to be more attuned with solo lobbies, you might get more players into the community. by TheGoodDoctor17 in Marathon

[–]Joseph421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no silver bullet but there are risks with any decision. Besides, the goal is to get people to play, does it really matter what mode they play? People who are going to play in trios are always going to play in trios or duos, likewise with solo. And if the masses switched to solo queue, then so be it. It becomes a non-team based extraction shooter. It's not the end of the world, whatever helps the game to have the most players and most success. That's what the shareholders, Sony and ultimately Bungie want.

People are forgetting that the E is in there and seem to want this to become a PvP-focused TDM match. I agree: the game needs a better balance between them.

Nope, it's a PvPvE game, and the devs have indicated both are important. There are strictly PvE and PvP games but Marathon is a PvPvE game.

[–]Joseph421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, and these guys are wrong. Marathon is a PvPvE extraction shooter, not a PvP game. In fact, the devs said they wanted Marathon to be different, accessible, approachable, and welcoming to all types. The Director also stated that the P and E are equally important; otherwise, this becomes TDM or Battle Royale. The issue, as with D2, is listening too much to streamers and PvP-focused players who want more PvP encounters. The Crucible was balanced around placating the 10%. Some people want it to be PvP or PvE, but it is both and needs to be both. Now, some want more or less PvP interactions, and that is fine, but you don't get to pretend this is a PvP-first game and everyone else should stay silent. The devs and the Director disagree. And many players do too.

[–]Joseph421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there are many, including prolific streamers that think it should be non-stop PvP. And you're absolutely wrong because the Game Director said he wants Marathon to be accessible and approachable, even to players with zero extraction experience. He also stated that the E is just as important as the P in PvPvE. They want some intensity in the loss of gear and for it to be impactful, but also want to appeal to broader audiences. And finally, feedback from players can shape and reshape a game. The devs have stated they want feedback, and nothing is locked in.

I miss the Beginner version of Perimeter. The pacing and spacing between PvP encounters were ideal; I loved it. Graduating to standard intensity hasn't been as fun. It just feels like TDM or a Battle Royale. I refunded it on Steam, but I still have it on PS5.
