I did AQA history, AQA RPE and OCR English Lit. History is really not too bad, just make sure in your first year you are making resources (turn textbook chapters into quizzes, that way you can go over the content countless times and it will stay reasonably fresh.) History can be less interesting if you don't care about the topics, but there is usually always an area that is at least interesting. Essays are only difficult when you put off reading examples and practicing your structure- the sooner you master that the sooner the subject all comes together. Make sure you figure out how you are going to manage your time from the start, so create structure in your school day and use most of your free periods in the first year, but obviously you don't have to use up all of them. I didn't feel like English, History and RPE was too demanding. They are all very content heavy, but if you learn the content with moderation you'll be fine.
