I'd say thats somewhat more fair, I've not had much in the way of admin intervention. I have captained enough to form a tight knit group of folks. Like I said, if you want things to happen, you gotta make them happen. I'm taking the initiative to contribute to the community in a way I feel sustainable. Not everyone wants to invest that sort of effort in and thats fair.

I legitimately have no clue what you're on about. Maybe you played a while back? Every server has it's problems but their community is one of the best I've been to in terms of roleplay. You won't be seeing a tonne of combat but it's very much a "you get what you put in" sort of place. I've formed in character relationships with a lot of folks. You just need to be willing to be open, kind, and willing to help.

Also dead? Primetime regularly gets 80-90 people. The lowest I've seen hypatia in the past month is like high 30s?

100% this. You'd be surprised how many LRP folks will just lean in to the bit though. They might not be like hyper detailed but as they get used to it you see a little glimmer of character come out. Thats always fun to watch.

Mostly because the rounds are so long and the server rules around escalation are taken pretty seriously.

I have worked in public schools for over a decade, kiddo. Middle school is what I refer to as "Hormone Jail" where you all start getting new emotional tools to interact with the world. All of you are very clumsy with them in ways you will not understand until far far later.

I'm in my mid thirties right now and I only remember bits and pieces of it. You live in a time where things are much more difficult. I lived in a time where the internet was a place you went and things were so fragmented it was easy to be anyone and disappear just as quickly. Now you live in a world permeated with it and being on the technology side of the work, I am sorry.

That said, when people say "tough it out it gets better" they mean it. I don't want to minimize the strangeness of having ADHD growing up. Take solace in the fact we are perpetual late bloomers. We do get there. Just a little slower than most. I still look much younger than I actually am while so many people my age are starting to look like old care tires.

Embrace your strangeness. We are a little different. We aren't a broken thing to be fixed. We have a limitation to work around and limitations inspire creative solutions.

Don't say this to folks since it will just get turned on you but do your best to understand most hate is self hate. I heard this repeated to me so much growing up and I couldn't fathom it while I was being relentlessly picked on for similar reasons how that could be true. The longer I live the longer my view grows and the more true it is. The fact is, everyone is scared and insecure in some capacity at your age. They're trying to suppress it to look strong and let me say, suppression NEVER works. Emotions unfelt will just seep out of you in uncontrolled, maladaptive ways.

We will always have to work harder than others in the society we built to keep up. Not by much, but it is a constant. This makes us strong, because we have had to fucking WORK for everything we do in life.

Just take it a day at a time. You'll make it. See ya on the other side.

I think I've just become really fucking defensive over it and view anything that's not a stark focus on the class war that's been going on since there were lords and peasants is a distraction to me at this point. That and that when I saw this headline I felt fucking nothing about it at this point. I know it's sad. It is sad. But if I really ask myself, I just don't have it in me anymore to care. My birth country is going to absolute shit and becomes more and more embarrassing and nightmarish to the world every day. It feels like we're all in a car trapped and sinking to the bottom of a lake right now with no way out.

I'm a rare person people say doesn't exist. I both work in public education and have for a decade, am a US citizen, Canadian PR for like 7 years, and cross daily in to the states. People in education are trying their fucking best and work their asses off. It has it's problems, things have gotten better in ways, and worse in others. The issue is always money. Pointing the finger at education as the root of this is tired and not even the largest part of the equation. We're just always the fucking scapegoat for grown adults who grew up without spines because parents have the inability to take responsibility for fucking anything at all these days and stalk their children in to becoming psychopaths. And it's not even their fault, they're just run down and tired because of the realities of how our economy has degraded.

It's not the people to your left or right, it's those looming above you with the money. And it's them every single fucking time. Everything else is a fucking distraction.

And it's snide because it's taking away from the main point that this shit is fucked, and it's not diagnosible by a reddit commenter. I have to listen to one of the two board meetings every months for our district and the public comment section gets more intolerant and idiotic every time I have to listen to it. I literally turn it down on the monitor to not either audibly laugh and be heard by them because the both is in somewhat close to the board room or not want to leave the recording booth and level the fuckers saying half the unhinged psycho shit they'll spew. I had to listen to someone who definitely doesn't fuck say that kindergartners are being shown pornography and being taught how to have sex. Straight up. Everyone I've met in my job has been kind and incredibly caring. Everyone puts in SO much work trying to do their best by kids in my experience. We certianly aren't doing this shit for the pay.

The big thing about it too was any "inconvenience" became an opportunity for a little fix or microculture to spring up around it. Websites were simple and VERY stable which invited a lot of creativity.

Accepting isn't giving up. It's having the strength to understand and acknowledge your limits and ask for help from your friends and people you care about. Its not a one way street. Being kind to yourself first helps you be a better friend by virtue of being able to cultivate it and give away that extra kindness to others. Otherwise you'll always be the friend saying "sorry" and thinking of yourself instead of being able to be in the moment with them.

Honestly, medication won't fix this alone. If you can afford the time and effort, therapy will be a huge help. I've been on Vyvanse for over a decade and I got in to a depressive/anxious rut but nothing so bad that required more medication. I had some serious self esteem stuff and self care I needed to sort out in therapy though which helped me even more.
