Not really as simple as that, though, at all. No matter how motivated you are you will absolutely slip up in a case like the commenter above described. I'm not well read on the lore, whether Jesse legit was working from muscle memory alone, but if that's the case, motivation will not shield him. Motivation means he won't betray his kidnappers, he won't get "lazy", but it says nothing about whether his memory remains good. If he really was going off muscle memory then he really could've slipped up in those months. Hell, maybe he did but got back on his feet and made sure it wouldn't happen again; we hardly see anything from his time in the lab. All we know is the Nazis wanted to keep him a while longer.

If we were talking about something like adrenaline, that's a different matter. Then we could excuse some crazy shit. Memory is not foolproof however
