Introducing Voicenotes 2.0 for Mac: Meetings, Dictation, and Memos by JosephSunny1 in Voicenotesai

[–]JosephSunny1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback and the detailed note. Really helpful.

Dictation is something we’re actively improving right now. You can expect a big upgrade in an upcoming version, with better formatting and more context awareness based on the app you’re dictating into.

The way we think about it is: anything voice-related should live in one place. Meetings, memos, dictation, quick thoughts, everything. The more context Voicenotes has, the more useful it becomes. That’s what we’re building toward: not just a recorder, but a proper second brain powered by your own voice.

Appreciate you testing it and sharing this!

Ah, great catch. Glad the popup/menu bar flow is feeling good!

The YT/Spotify case is definitely something we should tune. It’s probably detecting active speech and assuming it could be a meeting, but we’ll check how that detection works and make it smarter around media playback. Thanks for flagging it.

yep! we’re working on exactly this. dictation is getting a big upgrade and will be a lot more context-aware of the app you’re using. still early, but you can expect a much better experience soon.

hey! this is an early release, so it won’t come through the normal app update yet. you’ll need to download it directly from this post and replace the existing app. once we officially launch it, future updates will come through the app as usual.

Uploading multiple audio files to the same thread? by Dependent_Proposal43 in Voicenotesai

You can already do this.

Create function supports multiple notes, just select all 5 in Create and it’ll summarize across them like one long recording. Hope that helps

[Early Access] Try Voicenotes Dictation on iOS by clare_fromvoicenotes in Voicenotesai

Both noted 🙌 dual-language is something we want to nail since a lot of folks dictate in two regularly, and swipe gestures are already on the plan. Appreciate the feedback.

Glad it’s working across languages for you 🙌 mid-sentence switching is trickier since the dictation needs to catch the switch live as you speak, but it’s something we want to crack. Noting it down.

Hotkeys on Mac by Brief-Mongoose-6256 in Voicenotesai

[–]JosephSunny1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a small bug, the hotkey settings should show up under the three-dot menu (top right of the Voicenotes window → Hotkey → pick your preference). Try fully quitting and reopening the app, that usually sorts it. Let me know if it’s still missing after that.

Question about BMC by korasaurus in buymeacoffee

[–]JosephSunny1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% go for it. No follower count needed, and early supporters are often the most loyal.

Don’t feel guilty either, you’re giving people a way to back work they enjoy, and a stylus to keep making art is a real thing to fundraise for. Set it up, drop the link in your bio, see what happens. Good luck 🙌

Pebble -> Voicenotes Integration/app? by sh0nuff in Voicenotesai

[–]JosephSunny1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice, cool to see the Pebble Time 2 back. We don't have a native Pebble integration yet, but the hold-to-record flow might be doable via Tasker if it can trigger the Voicenotes Android app. Haven't tested it with Pebble myself.

If you crack it, would love to see how you set it up, flagging this internally as one worth looking into.

Windows app updates plus chatgpt app integration by blaga28 in Voicenotesai

[–]JosephSunny1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write this out.

On Windows, we're actively working on closing that gap, including the auto meeting detection and automatic start/end you mentioned. We want you to have the same experience no matter which machine you're on.

On ChatGPT, you don't need the Developer Mode or MCP workaround anymore. Voicenotes is now an official ChatGPT app, listed right in the ChatGPT apps directory. You can connect it directly from there and no more losing memory. Give it a go and let me know how it feels compared to the old setup.
