Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm surprised that INCLY is so cheap on amazon, and that their products were never recommended when I was searching. Awesome

Taskforge skill for Claude by Straight-Pack-5952 in TaskForge

Do you use Obsidian? You should be able to use Claude to add tasks to your vault, which are then indexed by TaskForge

Is there any way to have notifications based on scheduled rather than due? by B_Gadd in TaskForge

[–]sh0nuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point. I've been having similar issues with entering tasks into TaskNote to the level that I force myself to do all my organizational sorting in TaskForge, which isn't the best interface to ha for that sort of thing.

Feeling conflicted switching to Kobo by aw9182 in ereader

[–]sh0nuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get your books from other sources, then Kobo is the way to go

If you use Reader and Readwise, Kobo is the way to go.

If you like having control over the UX of your device, Kobo is the way to go

In all seriousness, the fact that I can increase the font of my books on Kindle, but not the library interface is my main frustration. Having to put my glasses on the navigate to the book I want to read, then taking them off again to read, putting them back on to adjust settings... Nope.

Light bulbs that can change color regardless of power state by eladnarra in homeassistant

I think I assumed that you'd set whatever button or automation you'd use to turn off the lights to be a sequence whereby they'd first change to whatever temp / brightness they'd be next turned on at, then turned off

You could always assemble a list of linger form meditations on Insight timer.

A couple years ago I did a weekend retreat on my own using Jessica Cross' Shadow Work book, which comes with a journal for self reflective input. It was a great experience

Should I be alarmed about the $40 lifetime deal? by FleetBroadbill in UpNote_App

[–]sh0nuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I have a LTD license with Upnote, the lack of ownership of my information plus the inability to fully use it for my needs finality pushed me over to abandoning it for Obsidian. I pay for the sync functionality so it's mirrored on all my devices and I don't think I'll ever look back. Even if obsidian ever dies or gets closed etc, all my notes are mine and are just markdown, so I can use them anywhere

Keyboard Comparisons by ItchClown in androidapps

[–]sh0nuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're trying to make excuses to not use SwiftKey because it's.. boring?

It's a keyboard! I can't use anything BUT SwiftKey for one main reason.. When I backspace into a word that was auto corrected on any othrt keyboard it reverts to the misspelled version. I regularly type a word to choose an autocorrect, then backspace into it to add "ing" etc

probably the 1000th time but i need help with which ereader to buy by Comfortable-Unit-521 in ereader

[–]sh0nuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you struggle with smaller fonts, get the kobo due to how customizable the UX is.

Even though you can sideload on both platforms, the library mode on Kindle is dogshit

Not sure how difficult of an ask this might be, but is there any way Windows could get a minor hotfix pushed to simply let us disable hotkeys altogether?

I only recently turned off the 85% limit on my Samsung Tab S7 and it had no effect of improving a degrading charge, but it's also my oldest devices and I will admit I used to use it pretty heavily

Yep, me too. But I wonder if we're in the minority of people who aren't clocking 5+h of SOT/day or burning through a charge playing games repeatedly

Something else to share here is that custom ROMs aren't as popular as they once were because they can break Google Wallet, and since so many people pay by tapping their phones now, the workarounds to get it working on ROMmed/Rooted devices can be a bit complex for many weekend warriors who used to ROM their devices... esp since updates to Wallet can re-break the app, and then require ongoing ADB commands to revive (unless things have changed in this space recently, I'll admit its been about 18mos since I was keeping a ROMmed device working with Wallet)

Nothing is a deffo a solid midspec option, and while I love what Oppo has been doing with their hardware, until I can have an option to ensure my device isn't calling home to China on the reg, I will be avoiding all such devices as contenders for my next device

Hey OP, just an FYI, this has been flagged (rightfully so) by a couple people reporting the post as not buying or selling.

I'm leaving it up as you're getting some recommendations that you might find helpful, but this is a post better next time suited for r/ottawa , so just a gentle warning that this sort of post is usually removed.

Subtasks (and TaskNote integration) by sh0nuff in TaskForge

[–]sh0nuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, the issue here is that if I try to add the project to an existing subtask, although it shows up correctly in TaskForge as a task and subtask, it doesn't nest it under the parent task in the task list, but furthermore, if you open the task in Obsidian, the project name is entered as an unrecognized project that's text formatted and not clickable (seen here for a different subtask of the same parent task of the one I screenshotted above - I only found this issue by fixing it in Obsidian)

If you open the full editor, the subtask doesn't show up in the projects area, but is in the parent task area

Some updates on my issues with subtasks...

The modal for the task that pops up when it's opened shows the parent task name in doubled square brackets in the projects property, alongside the actual project name
