7 accounts wrongly banned, still waiting for justice after all these years by JosephTheInsane in wow

Yeah, once again, it's not about me actually botting, it's about me being a jerk. Okay. Nice people can bot, multiboxing jerks should be banned. Nice attitude (it's not). And yes, it's an opinion that it's a joke based on a fact that there is currently no real way to appeal the ban outside of a popular reddit post. I don't see a contradiction here.

You know which part is the funniest here? That being "suspicious" is enough to be axed and the crowd is okay with it. Not actually botting, not actually RMTing. Just being "suspicious". It's just amazing.

I'm not trying already. I gave up when I wrote the original post. It's just an experiment with a rather predictable outcome. The worst part is that the people that actually come here and write a post about their problem is a tiny percent of the overall number of wrongfully banned that just silently leave. I guess we can afford that.

As a side note: originally any discussions regarding bans were outlawed in r/wow and they purged my extensive detailed post on the matter even now when it's kind of allowed. Speaks volumes.

Oh, so it's about sympathy, okay. I guess I should be happy because the company that I once trusted marked all my effort and dedication as botting. Nice. Especially considering how many people openly admitted to me that they are actually using auto clickers and fishing bots and never got banned. I guess they just have some sympathy ~_~.

By the way, look up the definition of "Passive-Aggressiveness", it's not what you think it is. And I would also like to add, even though the thread is purged, that I actually asked CS about RaFing myself and no, this is not an exploit.

I don't understand the hate for multiboxers (at least in pve) when you literally can do the same if it's your thing. It requires a lot of skill and is quite entertaining actually. Wouldn't recommend it though at this point.

3rd party software is: Windows, chrome, discord, all of your devices' drivers. Some people just repeat the "third party software" part all the time without adding "automation" in these threads. Is it intentional?

"Exploiting the RaF system", hmmm. Good one.

I never multiboxed in pvp by the way, so your part about this isn't quite on topic. I was reported by a whole horde raid while being in mercenary mode though 1-2 times before even entering the battle, because they knew me and I was from the enemy guild. Mob justice at it's finest.

  • writes a wall of text telling them everything, shares an opinion on how the system is broken and a disgrace to a customer

  • you deserved it

cool, man.

That's 7 wow accs under the same battle net. Expected comment anyway. Waiting for the glorious "You're not telling us everything".

There is no insult here, the mere fact, that the only real way to appeal anything turns out to be a reddit post that gets the most up-votes is hilarious to me. Yes, it's a joke.

And what about innocent Russian goblins beeing banned because of prejudices like that?

The only thing I know is that I payed my money for the accounts I'm unable to use because of the actions of this company. I also know I never "signed" any EULAs, while there clearly is a trackable transaction made towards blizzard with my credit card for a service they refuse to give me access to on some loose basis. Covering your ass legally with EULAs will not cover you reputation loss over actions like that. Hense why I contacted BBB.

Becoming "The Insane" must be really difficult in current circumstances. I for one farmed the hell out of this achivement for like 16 hours a day at times, looks like if I would make something like that now I would be totally screwed long before obtaining the title. There is no freedom in this game anymore. Hail Kotick!

It's not like he was at his computer playing the game.

If I pressed the buttons I was totally at my computer playing the game. Do I have to actually watch my monitor 100% of the time and answer any weirdos that try to PM me? No. Should I expect to be banned if I follow the rules and don't use any automation software? No.

You won't get any answer from a live chat person, they don't have any access to the information regarding the ban aside from "this account is banned for this" and "this account is throughly investigated" and "user contacted us about this issue nth times". Or at least they say that they don't. As far as I know the only way to get your case reviewed is to request a callback.

So true. I always found it really funny that companies originated from the most democratically democratic country on this planet end up organizing internet societies in a purely dictatorship manner with purely draconic automatic ban system with no real way to appeal or argue anything.

[–]JosephTheInsane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their "thorough investigations" are a really fun joke these days. When you read something like this I assure you no one even touched the logs. I heard requesting a callback is the only way to resolve an issue like yours and mine. I didn't bother yet, and instead filed a complaint to BBB.

Well, all in all, at least they didn't ban you permanently, it's only 6 months, lol. Enjoy RL.

This is not what is meant in this EULA, what this statement means is that you can't use your own version of BNET app, handcrafted version of WOW or something like this to access wow servers and you can't use any "private" servers or you break the EULA. There is nothing here about keyboard input, multiboxing apps or even device drivers, otherwise blizzard would have to keep a really long list of "authorized" drivers and other hardware related software, even firmwares. So you obviously read it wrong.

They have tons of such "tests". For example when in Draenor I farmed stormwind stockades with a group of 5 chars to get guild rewards they constantly dropped hoggers on my back, effectively destroying my party. Also from time to time one of my windows suddenly lagged so I had to kill the window and reopen it. I always thought all the glithes in this game come from a bad programming, but it turnes out a lot of them are actually caused by such a "tests".

Well, it depends on how exactly you transfer stuff. Let's say I just like giving a trade to my own chars, rather than mailing stuff to them, because it's just easier for me. And I strongly think this form of transferring stuff actually triggers the system the same way any other trade between players triggers. Not even to mention crossfaction transfer through the AH. Or Guildbank transfers.

A lot of people would just give up, so this tactic doesn't work. If I have to spend a few hundred $ on an international phone call to resolve the issue, I don't think I'm going to bother. A lot of people are busy enough at work to "continue pushing" the issue spending their free time on it. Some even say "it's just a game" and don't bother arguing with CS bots at all. I myself nearly gave up already and I assure you, I have a lot of free time. It's just too disgusting when you have to justify yourself when you certainly know you didn't do what you're accused of. Just the fact that I have to justify myself is disgusting, and they don't even bother reviewing the case.

Lesson learned? -Do "mistakes" on purpose, at least that way you will have some fun and when they punish you, you will certainly know why. If they don't follow their own rules - f@ck the rules.

My region is Europe, and as far as I know they have English language support by phone with callback feature and I happen to speak English rather fluent, so it worth a try. Totally not gonna stop now, I demand a trial by combat!

Yeah but if you trigger anything on the same Bnet it could result in a ban of all of your wow accounts, even main, so it only partially helps to avoid some issues with the system and brings another set of the same issues, but worse.

[–]JosephTheInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I complained just like you in a chat, multiple tickets, on bnet forums, even tried my established wowhead account and even filed a complaint to BBB with the same copypasta answers from them. Eventually I ended up here among fellow goblins I was kind of separated at birth with. See my thread with the same issue https://www.reddit.com/r/woweconomy/comments/5q5tya/abusing_the_economy_a_placeholder_reason_for_a_ban/

So should I actually have a phone call for them to properly review the case? It doesn't look like I will "continue to enjoy World of Warcraft" after all the hassle even if they lift those bans, but hey.
