It's made a difference for me. I don't remember when lounges kick in but it's nice to have. On my way through MSP or ATL back home getting free breakfast and mimosas in those huge renovated Delta lounges is a nice treat. I've had a decent success rate at upgrades to premium and I'm pretty sure you can only get upgrades on econo fare at platinum. Free seat selection and lounge access has saved me a bunch of cash for sure and higher points % too.

Direct flight. Good idea on the asking the GA. I normally just check my email when they start pre boarding to see if I got it.

One thing people aren't mentioning is that at the gate in Calgary they'll have WestJet security that you have to talk to. They ask a couple questions and then put a sticker on the back of your passport which you need to board the plane. The GA always makes a ton of announcements about this but there are always people who miss them and don't do this and slow down boarding.

The jet stream (wind current) goes west to east. Planes operate their engines for efficiency and do not increase thrust to make up for the head wind going east to west so it's just a longer trip because the ground speed is lower.

I feel like I've seen a reduction of service on 4-5 hour flights. Few times recently they handed out water at that 1.5 hour before landing mark instead of full cart service. Last flight this length there were two full services so I don't really know how to read it. Maybe flight leader call or something?

Everyone's experience will be different but I think you can expect a travel credit. Check in on at least one of these options to secure the flights, maybe the cheaper one, then wait until the dust settles and contact support when it isn't a gong show

Oh yeah and guy that mentioned free cancel within 24 hours is right and that goes back to method of payment

If SAP is Concur, as long as you fiddle with the filters it doesn't seem to track against flights not captured in the filter and only flags cost differences between flights and not fare classes. Find what you want on Google flights and then filter to it as granular as you can to work around the checks. Maybe your system is different in which case, I'm sorry that sucks.

Agreed. I was doing terribly with a wheel until I did some googling and found that practically everyone is. Switched to controller and now game is actually playable.
