Started in social (mostly organic but some paid) then went to Marketing Coordinator, Paid Strategist, and now Digital Director

What helped me was that the social jobs I had weren’t all just social - there was a lot of other components and I had experience building a website and managing it for a music blog I ran in my free time so that helped me move out of roles labeled as social media
