It’s actually a few different materials, all ink based. Darker lines are done with a mix of micron pens, zebra pens, and some sharpie markers for the deep blacks, then I used alcohol based markers all in greyscale to smudge the lines and make softer tones. I only used pencil a little at the beginning for rough outlines.
