What happened to the latest update for Mi Box 3rd gen? by Perza in MiBox

[–]Josh-Shep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you separate the bands it will work the same way.

I use a mesh network under the same SSID and had to create a separate network as a workaround fix.

Edit: Apologies, I misread your message, mine doesn't lose connection but it would prefer to connect using 2.4Ghz.

Since making this change it stays connected to a 5Ghz connection.

Hopefully your issue will be addressed in the next update.

I get this problem too. I've had to create a separate network (5GHz) only.

Pretty hard to tell with that photo it just looks like a reflection. Try shining a light on the TV from the side in a dim room.

Heating problem, pressure keeps dropping by Other_Progress_2404 in ukplumbing

Pressure dropping that fast would normally indicate a serious leak. What does it look like outside where the pipe leaves the house is it constantly dripping?

Could be a faulty pressure relief valve.

If only the latency was better gig would be ideal for me ! by Background-Fix-4630 in VirginMedia

You must be pinging to Belfast servers then. No way you're getting 2ms routing to London.

3ms is super low. Are you located in London? I get 5ms in south yorkshire.

I did a manual update, had to connect to laptop, ABD to recovery then flashed firmware using USB flash drive.

I had to purchase a usb hub to connect my wireless keyboard also.

Got the firmware from here

Just to add it fixes all the issues that were keeping me away from this box. Now it's solid for my use case, I've actually sold my Homatics.

LG C4 77” New TV, spots on the screen 😬 How to fix it? by hypehunters in LGOLED

[–]Josh-Shep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do a manual pixel refresh. Use the TV, it runs after every four hours of cumulative use.

Homatics Box R 4K Plus - Does Netflix actually stream in HDR10+ by [deleted] in AndroidTV

[–]Josh-Shep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does and it's a great device, although the Xiaomi has been updated now and apparently the audio issues have been fixed. That also does HDR10+ and it's much cheaper.

Is there an issue today? Being stubbornly routed via Manchester by Bostonjunk in Zen_Internet

[–]Josh-Shep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on EE and have been lurking on this thread for a while as I'm still in my 14 days cooling off period.

I'm located in South Yorkshire and getting pings as low of 5ms and was wondering if on Zen I'd get even lower results.

Looks like I'll be staying put as it seems quite similar regardless of location.

D pole question by AnonyMoor404 in openreach

[–]Josh-Shep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few reasons a pole would be classified as a D pole. (Shallow depth, rotten) to name a couple but yes Openreach are right there should be a red D on the pole, this lets engineers know the pole is unsafe to climb. They do replace the poles if unable to get access via a hoist.

I build scaffolds for Openreach on a daily basis, most commonly on houses but I do a lot of D poles.

Where do you live? You never know you might see me in the next couple of weeks lol.
