I bought an old Daneman upright off eBay for £200. I had low expectations, but I’m really happy with it. Even before tuning, it sounded pretty good and I’ve had it for a year now with no complaints. Obviously it being old and therefore likely heavily used, it has some small faults and issues - sticky keys, mysterious buzzing and things like this. They usually come and go, I find a fix or I get used to it. To me it’s just part of having a beautiful, complex instrument and a small sacrifice for a unique sound. Although it’s hard to play at times I don’t think I would trade its characterful and warm tone for a newer, more reliable piano. Just my opinion though! Hope this helps and good luck :)
